Obsessed Pokemon fanatics have created a battle system they have dubbed the “PokeLens” for Microsoft’s HoloLens augmented reality glasses, bearing the possibility of becoming a massive success considering the reputation that the similar Pokemon Go has built – though whether Nintendo will allow the game to exist (considering what they’ve done to previous fan games) is another matter.
The game, which takes the Pokemon franchise to a whole new level of augmented reality:
Apparently developers see a lot of potential in Microsoft’s HoloLens, at least in regards to anime-centric creations…
Pretty cool but those without a hololens might think you’re crazy.
This is pointless. Not because “nobody like VR” (lol ok) or because pokemon go was such a flop or anything like that.
Simply because Nintendo is overlitigative and will shut it down as soon as they catch wind of it.
Overlitigative lol, why protect trademarks when someone is distributing for free games almost the same as yours done using your models? That absolutely won’t affect their sales!
Ask Sega how they feel about the economics of unofficial fan works.
This isn’t VR, it is AR.
yes I know it’s not VR; I was referencing another commenter.
If Nintendo was smart they’d ask them to make a licensed version as capitalizing on gimmicks that have become popular always have been a good cash cow for Nintendo.
lol, Nintendo doesn’t license fan s♥♥t, because they have higher production standards than that.
Sega, on the other hand…
maybe, because they were expecting it to be the same as in the anime.
The market has already showcased that VR is worthless and will be used for stuff besides gaming.
But a lot of people don’t want to admit it.
i’m not sure why being useful for stuff other than gaming makes it worthless.
Somebody make a version for YuGiOh already!
Dear VR,
Please f♥♥k off, nobody likes you.
Sincerely,
Everyone.
Watch Dennou Coil and then go f♥♥k yourself.
You don’t speak for me, tosser.
Calm down people! @Cats2: Your comment makes sense considered what they did with this technology so far. Pretty underwhelming. But if it becomes someday something like the holodeck would you still dislike it? I mean it’s worth to support the VR if it leads us to a holodeck or Matrix like technology.
I’ve been a fan of the Microsoft HoloLens for some time. Just think of what that kid would be able to do if all their creative abilities where nurtured.
If I have to wear the entire holodeck on my head, then I would dislike it. If I can’t relax on my couch after a hard day’s work, then I would dislike it. The only acceptable form of artificial reality if it is directly transmitted into your brain while your body rests.
It’s AR. Obviously you don’t know the different between VR and AR.
This looks pretty cool.
