I guess it's not appetizing enough for the voters to vote it to be in top 10.

I need some enlightenment on weedle being on this list.

Me too. I'd understand Scyther or Kricketune to be on the list but weedle is a bit... I mean, I know that there are people out there who do eat millworms but crickets and grasshoppers are the more popular choice...

Japanese think THESE would be the best-tasting?

They fucking deserve their abysmal birth rates for being such retards.

Why is the fire chicken Torchic not there? Do these people not eat chicken?

I'm guessing that this is a list from Gen 1.

Only thing I see any good is the Krabby, Farfetch’d, or the Pidgeot. Maybe the Magikarp, but seeing as it has such weakness in its growth, its physiology probably would yield very little meat. Perhaps maybe a Magikarp soup.

Magikarp's skin is hard to cut/pierce as shown in the Gyarados Rampage Episode of Season 1 Pokémon.

Squirtle: I guess some people eat turtle, not my cup of tea, but whatever.
Magikarp: It's canon that they are bony as hell and almost inedible.
Weedle: why would a bug be delicious? Maybe if these we're Chinese results, I'd get it, but then Meowth would also be on the list.
Jigglypuff: Well it's called Purin (pudding) in Japanese, so I guess that makes sense.
Pidgeot: I doubt pigeons are delicious.
Farfetch'd: I think it's canon that they are eaten in the Pokemon world, so this one makes sense.
Ponyta: The Japanese do eat horse...so I guess I get this one.
Spearow: Like pigeons, I doubt sparrows are delicious.
Krabby: Makes perfect sense. If Krabby is number 2, Kingler should be number 1.
    Lickitung: Just, why? How?

My top ten (from just gen 1, like this list):

    10. Seaking (goldfish, but it's still a fish and it's much larger than a real goldfish)
    9. Goldeen (same as Seaking)
    8. Psyduck (never eaten duck, but I've heard good things)
    7. Slowpoke (they make the tail sound delicious in the games)
    6. Tauros (probably tastes like beef or bison)
    5. Exeggcute (it's eggs)
    4. Cloyster (a giant oyster)
    3. Shellder (a large clam or scallop)
    2. Krabby
    1. Kingler

Lickitung is most likely from cow tongue being a delicacy.

Weedle surprised me too, but then again Japanese culture do have quite a few different insect cuisine... like silkworm larvae among others.

What I can't imagine is Jigglypuff lol. If anything could be anatomically correct, what is there left to eat in it after removing those giant eyeballs? oh gosh the image alone is scary lol. Maybe I'm missing something aside from how jigglypuffs are really squishy.

Horse meat is often found in lunchmeats. So you likely eat horse as well.

It's sort of like beef, but has a darker, stronger flavour.

I'd replace 7 and 8 with Farfetch'd (the onion coming with it by default makes it the definitive duck for cooking) and Exeggutor because I love coconuts and Slowpoke Tail doesn't sound particularly appetizing no matter how much people seemingly love it.

In Korea there is a popular bird dish called Pa-Dak (Chicken with Green onion) and Farfetch'd's Korean name is Pa-Ori (Literal translation: Green Onion - Duck)...

Pigeon is part of French, Italian, Egyptian, Moroccan, Israeli, Chinese, Indonesian, etc cuisine. It's better than duck. Pretty much the only areas I'm aware of that don't eat pigeon are English speaking countries and some areas in Latin America.

Though the cousin of pigeon, dove meat is seldom found in the remote areas of English speaking countries, I doubt anyone here has eaten it.

Peacocks are eaten in Europe and Asia, so a pigeon isn't that strange at all.

I have trouble believing it where "obsessed Pokemon fanatics" if they only vote for gen 1 pokemon and skip pokemon like vanilux, tepig or miltank.

it's because they are "obsessed" pokemon fanatics... that they only chose gen 1. The modern pokemon fan might think otherwise, but the hardcore ones stick to the first gen if not the second gen included. Just think to yourself, "Gameboy and Gameboy Color Games".
