The public bathrooms at Shiyan Lake in Hunan have been bewildering many due to being constructed entirely from glass, allowing all comers to clearly witness others doing their business – which the designers say is meant to serve as a “tourist attraction”.
Not only the individual stalls are glass, the separator between the male and female bathrooms is also made entirely of glass, making some wonder if such a design is even legal – though at least the construction appears to be sound, unlike so many others in China.
The glass bathroom in all its glory:
Former promotions held at Shiyan Lake in an attempt to generate visitors includes a dance performance on the lake’s waters, which occurred last year (with transparent bathrooms clearly serving as the next logical step):
you will realize that it’s going to explode soon enoug
China’s bathrooms fuel my fetish
Tourist attraction? Forget questions of construction etc, did whoever built this ever actually meet any Chinese citizens? They rival American’s and Brits in terms of overall body shyness and things that they just don’t do in public. They’re like Midwestern Americans except without the occasional bouts of alcohol fueled debauchery. I can’t see “watching somebody poop” as being high on their tourism to do list?
Are you shitting me?
Glass toilet walls in schools too.
