The debut of Shuumatsu no Izetta has provided anime fans with an alternate take on the 1940s, a world about to be consumed by World War II that also boasts mythological entities such as magic and witches – bound to fascinate history buffs and conspiracy theorists alike, to say nothing of Strike Witches fans.
