The imminent English release of afterlife anime Death Parade has caused Funimation to upload a PV of the English dub, sure to be regarded as “killer” in both a positive and negative sense, as per the usual rantings of the “sub vs dub” crowd.

Death Parade’s English dub PV, which has seemingly spoiled several scenes in traditional trailer style:

The Death Parade can begin come November 29th.

To be fair even in English Cartoons the voice actors don't seem to enjoy what they do, they lack emotion, they sound like they are reading a script. Every time i watch a 2000s cartoon they have the worst voice actors possible if it's not something big like Batman and even than it's a hit and miss sometimes.

Not that all seyuus are great.

They only make 2-3000 yen per episode for hours of work (paid by episode not by hour) in Japan. The most popular voice actors will get more.

This is the guide for Voice Acting Salary.

I wonder if the dub will have the same mistake as the original. We hear it here in the trailer 0:22: "The stakes of the game are very high, your lives in fact."

And then in episode 2 they say "No one actually said their life was on the line" claiming the people just assumed it. He said it twice in the first episode.

And that's just one of the problems. They re-recorded audio for the second episode. That's as dumb as reading a book and seeing "And sadly our hero lost the battle on that day" as you flip back a few pages to confirm that no, he did not in fact lose.

    You can't change your story.

And to think, they want people to pay $49.99 for the regular edition or $84.99 for the Limited on Amazon when people can just download the subtitled episodes for free and save themselves the pain of hearing an awful dub.

I'm pretty sure Funimation have put up the RRP for their anime releases these days. I don't remember stuff staying at $50 for so long. It normally used to be around $40 or lower.

Actually its no one said they will be "killed" they are playing with their lives (being reincarnated or thrown into the void) on the line

It was before they figured out the afterlife thing. Long before.

"You will be killed if you lose"
"Your life is on the line"

How are those two phrases any different? The issue is that the writers changed things around and for some reason expects the viewers not to go back and confirm the changes.

The worst dub I've ever listened to recently was the Ladies vs Butlers one. Amber Lee Connors is probably the worst English voice actress I've ever heard. She also does the huniepop games lol.

Re-dubbing; the most disrespect towards an original creator's intentions and they have no hearsay. Even if the original turned out shit. I still wouldn't do it.

Sub watchers are just as dumb as dub watchers.
