A disturbing video taken at the 2016 Tokyo Idol Festival has shown that otaku have seemingly grown bolder (or perhaps more obsessive) than ever as they can be seen overwelming security barricades as they rush their way to be first to the front of the stage, no doubt soiling the reputation of relatively upstanding fans.

Apparently there have yet to be any injuries at the event, although it may only be a matter of time for both idols and otaku when it comes to these levels of “passion” in so confined a space.
