A PV for the English dub of Seiken Tsukai no World Break has made its way online, immediately causing many to question why such a generic series was picked up for western release – a topic that may actually spawn more discussion than the inevitable “subs vs dubs” debate.

Seiken Tsukai no World Break will make its way to the west on August 2nd.

nobody will buy it, because the dubbers never do a good job. That's why everyone goes to the subs or learn Japanese.

The thing is we lose perspective, this isn't exactly bad. In fact it's pretty decent. The issue is by comparison to the Japanese it simply doesn't keep up with the quality of whom it was originally designed for. It's a bit of crapshoot, because many voice actors do want to put their own spin on things while in-keeping with the character, and nobody would want to just try to mimic the original. Plus they have to keep in the timing of the original since A) They are not permitted to change the timing on scenes supposedly due to contract reasons, and B) They do not allocate budget to video editing to correct lip flaps.

I've made AMV Parodies for years now, I could lengthen scenes and match lip flaps in about a day for most episodes give or take rendering time. It may not change anything, but if it could give voice actors more time to say lines in their own way and immerse the audience, I'd love to see if that could be negotiated once in a while. The experienced dub voice actors are even pretty good about matching lip flaps and retaining character anyway, but that extra leeway would allow them to build their own character less forcefully.

Being as knowledgeable and insightful as you are, I would love to see what kinds of AMV's you've created over the years. Are they on YouTube anywhere?

All English dub is trash quality, even for video games or live action films as well as anime. It's a very obvious fact.

It like why harem genre die out. Harem genre why in end up choose one girl in the end. It betray of the genre. Harem genre must focus on get the girls into harem and harem-power problem solving not annoying harem quarrel. That why hi-school dxd is well-done. Almost harem genre anime now betray the genre they should die.

Seriously, the Japanese seiyuu were genuinely the ONLY good thing about this show. Absolute trash quality.

And even then it's only their names. They didn't do anything particularly impressive.

So much anime and they license this shit? WHY

One likely reason why is because when licensors in Japan are giving shows, they sometimes include stipulations where they will only do it if x show gets licensed too.

On a side note, I thought this show was simuldubbed and streamed. How is this an unveiling?
