The highly esteemed Degica (known for publishing the RPGMaker series) has unveiled their latest game development software, this time offering novice designers a chance to easily forge their own visual novels while also giving them the opportunity to send their games overseas and hopefully further carve out the genre’s popularity.
The unfortunately brief trailer:
Visual Novel Maker will arrive on PCs sometime this fall.
Well it offers Live2D, allowing character sprites to move, which is pretty astonishing.
However I’ll wait and see if it allows “pure text-based scripting”. It it only offers GUI interface then it won’t be an option, because that means you are basically locked to their framework. Adapting a script into it will also be a pain.
Ren´Py already does that…
There’s an better one for that already… (Ren’Py)
Or all the Nscripter variants, although likely outdated.
And Ren’py is free.
on steam there is tyrano builder that it is pretty good and seems quite similar to what degica offers
Coming to Steam Greenlight:
Terrible copy-pasta using the same assets and terrible f♥♥k-tier writing.
The world needs more lolige.
