The 4th and final episode of Rance 01: Hikari o Motomete has unsurprisingly seen to the twisted Rance escaping justice once again before typically going on another ravenous raping spree, with his victims this time being almost as (if not more) mentally disturbed than even the main protagonist – making it difficult for some viewers to decide who to side with.

I like how this is a super jolly hentai with like maybe one rape not even that and yet You claim the main hero is a rapist in it and that He’s mental even though He’s a generally likeable and stand up guy. He doesn’t make His partners depressed or leave them scarred for life.
Rance literally has most of the girls falling for Him, while one girl was raped by Him but She didn’t care afterwards about it.

You’re saying a raping sociopath can’t be a hero? Hell like 99% of classical heroes were in fact also raping sociopaths that just also happened to be the dude bad enough to save whatever needed saving in the story.

I suppose it mainly depends on the heroes’ purpose and what type of story you’re telling. Rance is certainly the hero here, or at the very least the closest that world has to one.

One could probably argue that he (and most classical heroes) are in fact anti-heroes but I see that as merely a sub-group of hero, a place where people put characters who do things outside of their own personal moral compass yet they still see them as heroes and they don’t understand why their brains still views this “bad guy” as a “good guy”.

Anyone who likes this piece of shit deserves a bullet to the brain, its depraved, ammoral, sick, and has a biggest douchebag psycho ive ever seen in a anime. Why would anyone root for him?

Head cannon wise, issei from highschool dxd goes to rance a x busters his douchy little bitch ass off of the land and takes his harem away, theyd be better off.

Are you part of some internet Rance hate brigade or something? People seem to sometimes see the Rance series at a surface level and dismiss/condemn it because “comedy rape” like you’re doing. I think this is pretty narrow minded though, and it really overlooks how the series fits in and differs from other eroge and the culture surrounding eroge.

This is an H-anime for fans of the eroge series. It should be praised for actually having a shred of character, especially in its male cast, considering most h-anime are just mindless fapmaterial with ridiculous plot arcs.

I think Rance is a great protagonist in an eroge world because, unlike most protagonists, he actually initiates things and leads. This gets morally dangerous at times so some get offended. Ok. But consider this: Because of Rance’s action (instead of the usual inaction) the writers have a lot more room to shape how the series’s many females react and relate to Rance. This, in turn, leads to stronger, more believable female characters. Characters whose characterizations and behaviours I would say are far less sexist than most eroge.

I’m so sick of pussy male leads having all of the game’s female characters falling over them and dropping their panties without even being asked to do so or any real relationship or character building justifying it. For me, it kills the female characters, and kind kills the scene too. The worst is when the character is genuinely likable but they suddenly pull this shit out of no where just because the game needs obligatory sex scenes and the writer has never dated in his life. They just become walking service machines made for the protagonist.

It’s okay if one character is like this because of course some people are hypersexual but that in itself can/should have some depth put into it. However, when all of a series females to be infatuated with the same person and act on that infatuation while said person does jack all as far as flirting or pursuing said girls,it’s just stupid.

Eg, Issei would be a terrible character as this series’s lead because he would only behave perverted but never actually pursue sex. In doing so, the female characters would all instead pursue sex by their initiative alone and this would again make them all seem very contrived.

See, instead of every girl in the world being a male fulfillment fantasy and falling in love with the protagonist, Rance is nuts and pursues sex with every women he meets. Sure, after sex, the female character sometimes ends up liking Rance and when said sex is rape this might be a bit unbelievable/offensive from a character stand point for some but what’s important is that not all the women he beds do end up this way. The games treats them like actual people with unique personalities and developments.
