Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Trailer Wild Indeed

An E3 trailer for the new open world Zelda game (now known as “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild“) has been regarded by many as the franchise’s most bold title due to its wealth of alterations from the game’s original formula, a decision bound to generate both praise and hatred from Zelda enthusiasts.

The E3 trailer, featuring some brief English voice-acting – another first for the franchise:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild can be explored on the Wii U and the impending Nintendo NX – a release date has not been decided yet.

Well, the goal of a console is to make great games to bait people in.

Just too bad this generation consoles have been REAL slow in that department.

Really? I think there's more games than I can play.
Or maybe I don't play that much anymore. Either way, there's alot of games I've played.

The tears of OOT fanboys complaining about Wind Waker sustain me. So much hate for the game most closely tied to their precious OOT. God bless gorgeous cell shaded Zelda games. So vibrant in a sea of generic awkward graphics found in 'realistic' looking 3D games.

The game looks gorgeous, and they're finally taking the series back to its roots. Anyone hating on this game is a fucking moron.

Aonuma said it's a direct port with no added features. Basically it's exactly the same as the Wii U version. Even the graphics are the same.

I really hated the original Zelda and the painful overworld of Skyward Sword. Getting to a damn dungeon was a keyless dungeon crawl. I really liked the Twilight Princess style cities and worlds. It was huge fun without whiney Moblin attacks every five seconds or dead, people-less forests.

This is by far the best game of E3 2016... followed by god of war, gears of war and some other titles, but zelda breath of the wild is definetly the most wanted game now... except by those extremely few haters that no one cares about

I'm more interested with flying part. If vertical freedom is as high as Just Cause then I'll be getting this.

Add flying dragon that Link can ride then this game is complete.

At least Link doesn't look like he's wearing brownish lipstick (I'm looking at you Skyward Sword).

It took me a moment to get used to those graphics. The current generation of games really makes it clear how weak Nintendo's hardware is. I got into the charm of it after a few minutes though. I'm still looking forward to this.

Zelda should have gone the Dark Souls path 2 decades ago. In the first Zelda games a boss was a real boss. And the atmosphere was more dark and mysterious on SNES. Ocarina changed all that to the worse. Twilight Princess world had the right atmosphere again but it was still too easy. Not hard enough. And way to much story telling. Any non interactive cg scene is poison for a Zelda game. No. Just some new features or weapons will not safe this franchise.

looks like a variety of shit to me, but I did like seeing Link take a dive into the water with his shirt off :3

Seems Nintendo took the "What if Zelda was a girl" question too seriously.

Pass. What the FUCK did they do to this series.

They went back to its' roots by creating a complete open world where you are free to go wherever you please.

The demo shows an ugly and empty world, Skyrim ftw.

Fuck Skyrim, Witcher3's open world is bigger and better. And the combat is far better, too.

Anyway, this game looks awesome. New game exploring game mechanics for the series, new weapons, and new ways to do combat with the NPC's. And the art is gorgeous.
As a Zelda franchise fan, this game looks extremely promising. Can't wait.

If by "went back to its' roots" you mean made another copy of windwaker + skyward sword then yes, they did it again for like the 4th time now. I'm so fucking sick of the windwaker art style, for fucks sake Miyamoto go back to OOT art style and formula.

If the only game series you've ever played in your life is The Legend of Zelda series then this game will be the most amazing thing you've ever had

otherwise it's an empty "open world" cash-in that will most likely suffer from the major problems of open world games, namely too many places to go with absolutely nothing to do.

Nintendo said that they removed the NPCs (save for the Old Man) from the demo to keep the story as big of a secret as possible. They also said what was playable in the demo was only about 2 percent of the game in terms of content. There's going to be a lot more on that plateau in the final game, and there will be even more to do off of it. The craziest part though is that Eiji Aonuma (the game's director) said you could just run to the final dungeon the moment you start the game, thus completely bypassing the story (something speedrunners will love). Plus Link can run around in his underwear, which makes one crazy challenge I like to call the "Naked and Afraid" challenge. Basically it's getting to and beating the final boss with 3 hearts and no clothes. This game may have small patches of emptiness, but it's designed that way to help you get lost in the world. The beacons will help you stay on track if getting lost isn't your thing, but getting lost was half of the fun in the original Legend of Zelda.

You're a fucking idiot. The Legend of Zelda series has consistently spawned some of the greatest games ever made. This isn't going to be a shitty Skyrim knockoff, despite what retards like yourself are saying.

The earlier games may have been amazing, mainly because there was no real competition, but the situation now is very different. Even if they are not bad games, they are certainly nothing special.
