What the hell is Bulbasaur doing on this list?

He was easily the best in gen 1.

Venasaur is actually one of the best starters in the game. He's right there in the "Overused" tier right there with speedboost Blaziken.

go play the original ruby/sapphire, pfft "speedboost blaziken".

Actually, he was pretty bad. Rock and water in the first two gyms and there was no Metal Claw in Red and Blue like there is in the remakes. His evolution is obviously better, but in the gyms where he's likely still a Charmander, he's pretty useless.

this is stupid considering the point of the game is to catch many different types so your main starter is really just clean up while you raise 5 other pokemon of your choosing, if you go to the gym with just bulbasaur and some level ones it's your fucking fault and deserve to die or your a little kid who doesn't understand the game.

Red/Blue gen grass starter is strong vs most of the gym battles. Even the ones where there's no damage advantage, the grass/poison type will help mitigate incoming damage.

If I remember correctly, wasn't a Lv.5 bulbasaur basically immortal in the grass gym, thanks to everything trying to spam poisonpowder on it?

By the time you get to a Gym he can't roflstomp he'll already have evolved. Of course he won't sweep every Gym, no one single Pokémon will do that, but Venusaur is a pretty reliable Pokémon on the whole, and definitely on the better end of the starters.

Actually, you can sweep every Gym with every Pkmn. Just only ever train one. That one will be Lv100 in no time. I did that with Scyther in Gold.

Oh, I see you're starting with a fire type.

Here, let me put this rock themed gym as your first obstacle. Because you should have picked the grass type, fucktard.

Froakie is on there? Really? He is one of the bets ones to have despite the ugly pre evolution design.

This list also features fan favorites like Chikorita and all the first generation ones which are the most popular.

Froakie was a great starter. Sure Chespin was mediocre, but to not see the trash Fennekin makes me wonder if this was just a poll about starter looks rather than one about ability.

Its fire type, flying type and fighting type. Weak against water, lightning, psychic, rock... need i say more?

I'd love to know where you got a version where a Pokemon can have three types. Blaziken is Fire/Fighting. Water, Psychic, Flying, and Ground are the weaknesses.

Only one on the list I somewhat agree with is Tepig, and that's only because gen V movepools in general tended to suck. Most of them are viable choices even in the PvP metagame, and even chikorita can evolve into a decent staller if you build it right.

Fuck the guy who made this list. My Meganium offed a Tyranitar in one hit, defeated a Lugia, paralyzed a Ho-oh and left a Mewtwo in yellow before falling.

You want real trash starters? Where the fuck is Pikachu in this list?

The list isn't "my overleveled starter can kill _____", it's "this starter is not as good as the other starters in comparison".

Though considering Froakie and Bulbasaur are even on the list, just proved how fully bullshit this list is.

Bulbasaur (and its evolutions) was by far the best grass pokemon of gen 1. That was already enough of a reason to not be on this list.
He is super effective for the first 2 gyms and resistant to the 3rd and 4th.

Instead of Charizard you can have Moltres and instead of Blastoise you can have Gyarados (speaking about gen 1)

Crap...another bunch of USELESS japs who dont fucking know about pokemon. Charmander is a good option inclusive in the pokedex say to is good so you capture one, Trecko equal is a decent option to a melee class pokemon and semi ranged, bulbasaur and his cannon is the best of the list great dmg and good def.

But he's right a lot of those starters aren't useless at all and either were good back when their game came out (mostly pre-gen 3) or they're pretty much gods of their competitive division.

Not even half of that list is correct although that's the same with almost any list sankaku post.

It doesnt make sense for all the first generation starters to be "useless". So this is poorly made.

Grass type starters are bad as grass is a bad type. they lack offense and often have slow speed. Grass has alot of weaknesses and few strengths. I like green so that is the one upside.

Water isnt bad, but its very common, so its a waste to make your rare starter that type. Get a fishing rod and find a water type.

Fire is usually the best as its strong on offense, somewhat rare, and has good type strength and weaknesses. Also, fire type starters evolve to look badass.

This list makes no sense! shouldn't the worst started be determined by how difficult they have against gym leaders, it's stats, abilities, learnset, type, and other factors? This is bollocks
