Final Fantasy XV’s emotionally troubled protagonist Noctis has acquired a poseable figure from none other than Square Enix, replicating the prince’s brooding demeanor and equipping him with a sword to make him look presentable – Noctis can ride in a car for miles with buyers this September.
Noctis can be pre-ordered now.
Words cannot fathom how Squenix manages to drive me away from their franchises with their shitty designs.
meh it’s your lost then.
what part of “fantasy based on reality” don’t you understand?
Shitty designs as in? Can’t you be more specify when writing negative remark. Plus I don’t think words cannot fathom it when you actually managed to write one long sentence, just saying.
I originally wrote a longer comment and trimmed it down because most people don’t like to read.
To elaborate on “shitty designs”, they all look like boyish angsty emo metrosexual assholes. Nothing about these designs says “fantasy” to me. At least characters like Cloud, Sephiroth and Squall looked unique and had battle-ready clothing. Things have continuously spiralled downwards since then.
I don’t think there’s been any other Final Fantasy (or many other creations at all) where so many of the protagonists are wearing the same fully plain black clothes. One of them looks so much like Cloud that it seems to often confuse everybody.
A bunch of seemingly adult men trying to be boyish looks irresponsible and immature to me. I know there are people who like that, but it’s not my kind of thing. I can understand if you want to appeal to that demographic. But having every protagonist looking like that? One or two would have been enough.
Squenix has said that this game will determine their future. They are pouring insane amounts of money into it. So, obviously, they want to appeal to as many people as possible. But can you seriously look at these protagonist designs and feel that they appeal to most people? I can’t.
To elaborate further… older Final Fantasy games had a wide range of unique, easily identifyable, battle-ready and/or battle-hardened characters that likely appealed to all sorts of people.
Those characters often came from different wakes of life, banding together for a greater purpose. And you could feel that just by looking at them.
When I see the characters in this game, I can’t help but see them as a bunch of nearly identical assholes cruising to score some babes. When I see them wearing their very casual modern clothes, brandishing their fantasy-ish weapons, it looks like cosplay.
I just can’t take them seriously. Again, good for you if you’re into that sort of thing. But I seriously doubt these designs are going to appeal to as many people as Squenix wants.
does boyband simulator ring any bells?
Joints…
I get what you mean, joints make it look like a toy instead of a high quality figure
