The debut of Kiznaiver has spun a tale revolving around the seemingly “magical” transference of pain between individuals; an odd concept thatshould have viewers curious as to where the series will go, although its easily abused punching-bag protagonist seems unlikely to prove popular.
Omake:
Looks like its Studio Trigger vs. BONES this season in a battle for supremacy.
That last gif is hilarious.
Sounds interesting.
Regarding the concept of transferring pain between individuals, this reminds me of the witches arc in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels, which ends up in one case of using the stored up pain of another person as an extremely effective defensive weapon 🙂
pretty much mekakucity actors all over again…

It is, because they switch power of immortal demon with pain caused by crazy science machine.
In what fucking way?
– Deadfaced white hair guy.
– Blue haired girl connecting to the deadfaced white haired guy.
– Seemingly disjointed group of protagonists connected by some weird power.
– Pretend semi-futuristic setting(I know Mekakushi isn’t legit futuristic, but the Shaft art style made it seem so anyway)
– Story tone trying to sound smart and/or philosophical but coming off as rather meh. (Interpersonal conflict would never happen if people understood each other’s pain, etc.)
I see the similarities, but I wouldn’t clump the 2 together, not by judging only through a single episode.
I just watched first episode and I have to say this anime is stupid as hell, but not in the funny way, this anime is stupid because is too boring. They tried to make a funny story with serious plot but they failed so far; the story and characters are weird but not funny and the main plot tries to look deep and ends being a bunch of stupid situation jokes.
Since trigger studio is involved and they deserve a little respect, I’ll give another chance and will watch episode two. But If they don’t make a fuckingly awesome plot flip on next episode I’ll drop this s♥♥t and focus on better animes.
The only positive thing I found so far is the pink haired guy that look like kamina and made me watch TTGL again.
Have you seen Kill la Kill?
It started somewhat like for many, and see what it became. lol
Yes, I watched It, and Kill la Kill first episode was very enjoyable, It had tons of action and was crystal clear explaining what could you expect from the next episodes of the anime.
Meanwhile, kiznaiver show a stupid main character being beaten; a weird girl that could be a mix between Satsuki Kiryuin and Rei Ayanami; and a bland demo of what happens when people share their pain. There were not good or evil guys and there was nobody who deserves to be te main character; If trigger studio crew don’t do their magic for second chapter; I will drop It.
