I dislike tattoos but I don't call them disgusting.
    To each his/her own.

    Depends on the tattoo.
Though, I've no recollection of ever seeing a tattoo done right.

They're art, and depending on the artist, they can be good or bad.

Perhaps 'disgusting' is not the right word they should have used, but really tattoos outside of tribal tradition are kind of pointless overall. Even potentially meaningful ones mostly are just kind of dumb in concept. A co-worker of mine has a tattoo of the foot of her infant child who died on her leg, and while the sentiment of memory is worthwhile, the concept is stupid. First off, the child wouldn't want her weighed down by the memory on her skin, second get a picture of the actual print and frame it and it has the same effect. In fact moreso because it's the actual footprint instead of a tattoo artist's rendition.

So's your attitude, but hey. If you don't like them, look the other way. Much like all the women that've turned you down over the years.

Women with tats look like bar hogs that live in
trailer parks, use meth and appear on Jerry Springer. Guys look like skinhead thugs. They don't call them
    "Tramp Stamps" for nothing.

My issue with them is the majority who have them, don't have the proper foundation (fit body) to make them look good. My friends with ink have all been fat or skinny-fat couch potatoes. Same with beards.

How about you make Resident Evil into a first person military shooter?

I want a dating sim in a high school setting where you play Nemesis trying to get the attention of Jill-senpai.

Why not? Its not like the series can tank any further. And given the nature of the beta, Type-B otaku community, this idea may actually revive the franchise.

The more RE was being inspired by CoD and Gears, the more the franchise took a dive. That's why they're allegedly going back towards their survival horror roots.

Never should have diverged from their survival horror roots in the first place.

Dying Light now takes over as open-world zombie games.

Open world sandbox trend needs to burst. Even with the biggest teams and budgets they've all suffered from overall polish due to the scope. More moving parts = more goes wrong.

That was the original idea way back in the 90's.

Mikami originally wanted Resident Evil to be a "Doom clone" FPS but changed his mind after getting some inspiration from Alone In The Dark.

And Doom itself changed in the opposite direction, where the game's creative director originally planned it to have a detailed story, a hub world connecting levels, interactive computer terminals, multiple playable characters, and other advanced features, but Carmack threw all that out, and instead turned it into a game where you just collect key cards and shoot things in the face.

Well if you switch out first person with third person that's basically what Operation Racoon City and Chris' campaign in RE6 were.

Aren't we arrogant and obnoxious. And Americans wondered why they are disliked.

Comments like this always make me laugh and laugh and laugh. Every country seems to think that at least one other country is arrogant, obnoxious or flawed in some fashion. This thus prevents them from seeing the fact that they themselves are arrogant, obnoxious and flawed in some fashion. Except maybe Luxembourg. They're super chill.

I suspect that those who make comments like that feel that their own country is disliked, so they attempt to make it look like some other country is worse, in hope of distracting you from the faults of those closer to home.

In japanese thinking, tattoos are almost exclusively linked to Yakuza (who use them extensively) so yeah there's negative opinion of them.

Which I can fully understand. But if you're going to make a game that releases worldwide, featuring non-Japanese characters, then you kind of have to move past that stuff. Not every character needs to be a smooth, hairless guy. Things like tattoos, body hair, piercings and scars are great ways to add to a character design while also giving out details about a character without having to actually say anything. That so many seem to have such a hard time with this is something I always regret about Japanese devs.

what an absolute pussy. like looking like you are a former or current yakuza does not make you look like a badass. "oh hes holding a gun at someone but that tattoo really hurts my sensibilities" isn't the point of a strong male lead to look threatening? how stupid is it to soften up the hero's image in a game about aiming for the head.

Exactly. This whole anti-tattoo nonsense is getting seriously O L D especially since the vast majority of Japanese realize that tattoo /= to criminal in the real world.
They know the difference between YAKUZA tattoos and regular person tattoos.

Maybe in metropolitan area's like Tokyo where they might be more open but not in the less cosmopolitan
areas and the country. It may be old fashioned to you but it's their country and their custom try to not be so arrogant and dismissive.
I lived there for years, married and raised children there and never had any real problems by just following those tenets.
