Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization has shown off a bit of everything with its latest trailer, detailing the mechanics behind its battle system, explaining the lore and general plot while even showcasing some of its 3D CG to hopefully garner the most attention possible.
The lengthy trailer:
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will offer up its wealth of loot this fall for the PS4 and Vita, while western fans will unfortunately have to wait until later in the year.
Can we make a FeMC this time?
from the looks of it, the monster barely moves at all.
where’s the fun in beating a boulder with a sword?
Lost Song was complete garbage. I’m glad they went back to something I enjoyed.
I really wish they would move on from the same engine used in the first PSP SAO game. These models/environments are marginally better than what the PSP is capable of. If you’re going to put a game on the PS4, at least make it PS4 worthy.
The SAO:HF remaster for PS4 was actually decent in revamping the graphic to be more console-ish. I have a feeling it might be the same case here. They’re probably using footage from the PSV version for whatever reason.
I’m just hoping the gameplay, story (with associated translation), and length are decent. HF’s story was reasonable (JUST the HF side; IM side sucked balls), but the gameplay was iffy (the dating sim aspect was a chore.) Length was okay (there was always something to do if you wanted.)
LS was kinda a clusterfuck. Considering Camco has some VERY good game engines for the type of gameplay LS was trying to invoke (Hello, PSP Macross games), it sucked for a full-priced game. Length was bleh, content was lacking, story was meh, and gameplay suffered from lack of variety. (“Customization” was a piss-poor joke.)
Re:HF was a far better game overall for the price you pay compared to LS. HR going back to that style (and connecting it via the title name) MIGHT be a better bet than the half-assed job LS was. We’ll see: HF still had its own shortcomings.
If the battle system isn’t complete garbage, it will beat Tales of Berseria at least. Tales battles have been getting slower and slower with every game and enemies have 0 intelligence. Any kind of battle system that needs combos and thinking to win would be an improvement.
Play on chaos
Still 0 intelligence enemies, just numbers and hardhitting. And you don’t need strategy, you need to exploit the system. That is not the same.
Lemme take a guess: it’s more of a story now than actual game.
Get 3 friends, put on Tales of Graces, activate chaos difficulty on first playthrough, and don’t turn it off. See how slow the game is then.
If it is anything like hollow fragment and lost song, this is going to be trash as well!
At least the light novels are good.
Based on the trailer, it feels like God Eater but with Tales-like skill attacks.
