The frequently ridiculed prefecture of Saitama has obtained its very own RPG, hopefully alleviating its problem with being commonly labeled as an “uninteresting backwater” – and with this not being Gunma the monstrous encounters are far removed enough from reality to be a source of some amusement.
The smartphone RPG, entitled “Localdia Chronicles”, has areas representing each ward of Saitama City, additionally offering coupons that players can use at real-world businesses in the prefecture.
A brief PV:
What’s Saitama? Is that a cupcake?
He’s a hero for fun.
Should have made a game set in One Punch Man setting but with a city that’s actually called ‘Saitama’. You get to play as Genos trying to defeat the monster of the week before Saitama shows up to one-punch it. You have a time limit to beat the monster in the flashiest, coolest way possible. Failure to beat the monster within time limit or defeated by monster results in Saitama showing up to turn the monster into meat chunks with a single punch.
More people than some european countries but when you are right next to Tokyo, you’re just some rural suburb.
Tell that to Chiba.
I mean… It’s something, I guess. I don’t know what it is, but it is something.
