Sword Art Online & .hack Collide

SAO-.Hack-Collab-1

SAO-.Hack-Collab-2

The kings of the “VRMMORPGs gone awry” genre Sword Art Online and .hack are at last coming together in this latest collaboration, an event unfortunately only taking place on the smartphone level…

CyberConnect2’s .Hack successor “New World” will be obtaining some Sword Art Online costumes while Sword Art Online: Code Register will be receiving .hack costumes – a rather underwhelming outcome for most.

Teasers for the collaboration can be spotted below:

Great now they shall destroy .hack ,with bad story and boring character deigns. So shall Kite and Black rose also get an AI kid and pretend they are parent´s like some nut jobs and move in to a house and ignore the story for a few episodes and then jump around in mmos solving crimes like starsky and hutch.

And they'll be doing all this in the database. In the database. Oh, oh, oh, oh.

I've been saying it for a while now.

and it has finally been revealed with this.

    .Hack = Sword Art Online

Minus some minor differences they are basically the SAME THING.

So the REAL question is WHO did the BETTER job?

    .Hack? or SAO?

The original? or the clear 10 years later RIP OFF? (2002 vs 2012)

Never knew New World is 「The World」...

Which why I was confused why Kite is in the game like nothing... (Although he said that he forgotten his past).

Welp, I'll try to keep up with the game as much as possible. This game is hard to keep up as needs more effort...

Or it's just that there aren't much gifts for newbies for now.

In one side you see the BEST franchise about a mmo who have goods LNs, various games and animemanga adaptations, and in the other side...the shitty sao.

This is like seeing Berserk getting teamed up with God eater. Can we just not?

Berserk was more like Game of Thrones though. Except instead of focusing on political bullshittery it focuses on this one dude who got screwed over by the world seeking revenge by putting a giant slab of steel into the objects of his hatred.

One of the writers for the anime, or one of the writers for the games?

Or the ghost writer of "I don't know wtf I'm talking about?", your biography?

This this this! I'd even settle for a new .Hack anime. I've tried Sword Art Online, Login Horizon, etc. None of them had the same resonance with me. The chilling atmosphere, emotion inducing music, and mystery that .Hack had.

We could use an HD collection of both the original and GU series (and maybe Link), at the very least. I mean, it's been about a decade since those were ever a thing, so a re-release should be in order.

@19:45 .hack's gameplay was subpar even for it's time's standards, yes I'll agree on that. And while it's story is also nowhere near perfect, it still is far better than the "Jesus Kirito VS the 100th 1 dimensional villain while his bitches watch" SAO.

It doesn't deserve to be a subtitle to SAO and still is the best thing there is in this "trapped in MMO" genre.

First four games were terrible. Don't let nostalgia cloud your memory. Every game was super-short with almost no development. GU was a little better but games were still too short with repeating plot devices (hello, arena battles). Only saving grace was Alkaid.

Link sucked and was a flop though, so I don't know why anyone would wanna remaster it.

.hack (infection through Quarrentine) was actually only 1 game. (just divided for increased profit sales. I disagreed with that tactic myself) If you have ever ripped the games (for PCSX2 Emulator) the games could have easily been condensed to 2 DVD5s or 1 DVD9. If they did make an HD version I'd expect that they'd be able to condense the volumes from 4 to 1 solid Blu-Ray. That's the only way to get the true experience.

The only thing I didn't like about G.U. and forward was the killing of Aura. Between the game and Sign it seemed like she was kind of the reason behind all of it. Then they killed her off and it was almost like they eradicated the purpose of the series... Then again, maybe it was just me missing the use of Data Drain...

How? This is clearly a cashgrab game.

Meaning .hack just sold out and chose to taint itself for the sake of money.

When was the LAST time .Hack made a game?
Perhaps this is just .Hack's way of saying: "You think we're just going to sit idly by while you rip everything off of us? Hell no. First we're going to beat you here. Then we're going to make a huge PS4/XBone revival with a brand new HD game that brings back the power you all loved in 2002 and return it to it's rightful place. --- oh... and .Hack//Sign is still a Yuri.

Here's to hoping that Kirito will stupidly dive before a waifu character and gets himself Data Drained for his trouble.

Try iPad. Mobile games on 10-12 inch screens. Now that tablets are getting faster and stronger, they're developing better ways to play games on them in Retina resolutions.

Not really no. I got a job at a Company called Alsco as a sales rep and I usually do 10 or more hr shifts. The mobile gaming platform isn't really my thing cause I don't see any reason to play on it or take games on my phone seriously. Maybe its cause I grew up with the home systems and like having a big screen to play on for my games if its not with my handhelds.

Better than trying to remember SAO (which is ironic since it is more recent... yet less memorable... what does that say about it?)
