A trailer for the English release of Valkyria Chronicles Remastered has educated unknowing potential buyers about the military shooter’s “BLiTZ System”, sure to resonate well with the west’s crazed fascination for mindless shooters while at least bearing some semblance of strategy and depth.

The chaotic trailer:

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered will invade American shores on July 17th for the PS4.

meh once you figure out how it works the battle system becomes a little too easy. still the game was great.

anyone who played the game before already knows about the combat system. that's why it said "unknown potential buyers" because they might not know about it

The video literally just shows how the game works, for people new to the series.

    The game system itself.

Blitz (lightning in english) became mostly famous when Germany attacked London with v1 weapons and the france/soviet union invasions with motorized units break through the front supported by "Sturzkampf Bomber"(StuKas)and surrounding them to prevent a situation we had in WW1. The "Stellungskrieg". Since then it became somewhat "cool" to name different thinks "Blitz". For example blitzball from Final fantasy X to point out it is fast and modern. As a german myself I found it first a bit disturbing considering the history behind the terminus but on the other hand we could maybe learn 1 or 2 things how to deal with our terrible past from the english speaking world. I think the same principle goes for "Girls und Panzer" and some other stuff. Tight SS uniforms. But it has its limits. I cannot imagine a cool association coming out from KZ (concentrations camps) or gas chambers.

The "way to deal" with it is to just start ignoring all this dumb world war shit. Anyone still alive today from that period is either old and not worth listening to or going senile

Why be offended by events that happened over 60 years ago should just go and shoot themselves, there's more important stuff to waste your time on

How is this revisited? I played the PS3 version years ago, but I can't see any difference...

Revisit doesn't mean that it's been changed.

Compared to the PC version, the Remastered version just has 1080p cutscenes (they were orignally 720p). As far as I'm aware, this is the only change to the entire game.

Yea... I played the Steam version somewhere in 2015, and from what I can tell from the trailer, there's no real new features.

Good game though! It's charming, has the original Japanese voicework (The subtitles don't always reflect the spoken dialogue though, something that's pretty damn common) and is lengthy. Plus it comes with all the DLCs and extras, so you get some more campaigns which tells the story from a few different viewpoints.

Idk man. The game is good in practice, but then when you force yourself to get the fastest speed in completion it kinda lost its fun.

    XCOM is still way better.
