Japan’s known tendency to censor “offensive nudity” in anime has elevated to a whole new level with the re-airing of retro sci-fi OVA “Fight! Iczer-One“, turning down the usual implementation of conveniently bright lights and bothersome steam for hugely obstructive black boxes.
Originally released in 1985, Fight! Iczer-One was rebroadcast on TV for its 30th anniversary, which has essentially been ruined for most fans by an extremely lazy (or ultra-draconian) attempt at censorship:
The more “colorful” critics have questioned the point of even airing such a preposterously censored series considering how badly the blackouts take away from the immersion…
oh… its an OVA.
These people need to just die already. They just bitch and whine about things that offend them until no one can enjoy anything.
did they at least broadcast it in remastered high definition?
This is hilarious in a really sad way
If you broadcast with this shitty censor, it s better not to do in the first place……
