Referential RPG drama Hai to Gensou no Grimgar has gone a few levels higher in regards to monster encounters, forcing the show’s vulnerable young warriors to do battle against a more threatening opponent as the plot seemingly has it in for them.
Omake:
The novels are fucking boring… A lot of people say they are good, but they’re boring. This adaptation is trying not to be boring and doing a decent job. Just don’t expect the story to go anywhere meaningful. Not a lot happens in the novels either.
I think this show is a masterpiece.
dat ass doh
So far I think this anime is decent. I didn’t read the light novels (I haven’t read ANY light novels), and I don’t know anything about this series other then what I’ve watched so far. I just dig the Fantasy genre, and the story and characters are interesting. My only complaint is the plots snail’s pace. These past 8 episodes could’ve been condensed to 4 or 5. It could still go downhill in a million ways, but I’m optimistic. I like it better then SAO, Log Horizon, or DanMachi.
This show feels like Twilight of MMO animes. Tries to be edgy off of a fully explored genre, and absolutely falls flat and trash
The biggest problem with the anime is actually that it is an MMO anime, they seem to have done it to skimp on character backgrounds, just “throw some characters in there, and they have no memories, and then they kill stuff (or try to and fail miserably anyhow)”. I quite like this anime, but it’s pretty obvious it would have been better if they hadn’t gone for the whole mmo anime style.
