The newest build of schoolgirl stealth title Yandere Simulator has unveiled new personality types for all the game’s potential young targets, inserting more variety and diversity into the game to create a tougher challenge for would-be yandere.
The developer’s latest update video:
Yandere Simulator and its various updates can be tracked via it’s official website.
Always good to hear news of Hitman: The Yandere.
I’m getting the feeling that the more he adds the more impossible it will become to win this game. I realize that the final version of the game will make it hard to beat, which is the point, but if he adds TOO much it may make it too hard to beat.
He just needs to add more ways for players to act, which will come later. I highly doubt that it will be harder then Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
lol, the dev still pronounces it incorrectly…
Yan-dairy… haha
Clearly, a foreigner trying to speak Japanese downvoted this one.
It’s pronounced yan-deh-reh, not yan-dairy, you morons.
I invite you to look up how French words ending in “é” are pronounced in English and in French. English doesn’t have “deh” or “reh”; when you try to end a syllable in “eh”, you invariably get “ai” as in “dairy”. (Or if you try to avoid the diphthong, the best you can get is “ee”.) Hence, “yan-day-ray”, which is exactly how he pronounces it.
Sure, it is physically possible to pronounce it like the Japanese do, but then you’ll be speaking Japanese, not English. And sure, it is physically possible to insert a random word spoken in Japanese into a sentence spoken in English (and I sometimes do this sort of thing myself), but he sensibly chooses to keep himself to a single language.

Actually is, it’s closer to Por-shuh though.
Here’s some viewing material so you can learn:

The other anons (00:53, 13:47, 02:07) are smack bang on about the Yandere pronunciation too. As someone that is very interested in the Japanese language, I laugh at the developer constantly pronouncing it incorrect.
It’s just going to cause most of the people that watch/play it to pronounce it incorrectly as well.
(PS. >21:58 – It is piss easy to mix different languages and still pronounce them perfectly, It’s not “impossible” at all)
@21:58
“Sure, it is physically possible to pronounce it like the Japanese do”
Uh, no. I’m a native English speaker that is learning the Japanese language and I can pronounce “yandere” just the way a Japanese native speaker does.
“And sure, it is physically possible to insert a random word spoken in Japanese into a sentence spoken in English”
Except that, it really isn’t. Again, if you do it correctly, you mix and interchange words for different languages at any one point.
An example would be the name “Porsche”, you don’t pronounce it like “porsche”, you pronounce it like “por-sha” because it’s their native way of pronunciation.
It’s like yandere, you don’t pronounce it “your” way, you pronounce it the native speakers way.
Hell, if you need more proof, check out this Aussie guy here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OD33BbH5pug
Actually, it’s never pronounced por-sha.
This guy is just full of great ideas. I’d personally like it more if the game were emulating real life a bit more realistically but still a great concept.
Twitch tv banned the game from being broadcasted despite games like GTA:V having much worse and over the top content. Of course, GTA is a triple A title which a lot of people play and thus would want to see on twitch; which is the main reason why they don’t also ban GTA if they would ban Yandere Simulator.
As an indie developer coping with this much hypocrisy he’s still going strong.
Well, some people theorize that the reason behind the discriminating banning policies is because Yandere Simulator features similar things as GTA V… but with potential underages. GTA V features absolutely no underage doing anything questionable, and neither does Mortal Kombat X, another game allowed on Twitch.
Whether this is true or not remains to be known. I personally believe that Twitch managers are just racist. Like, seriously, have you seen their list of banned games..? 95% of them are either Japanese or Japanese-looking, like this one and HuniePop.
“Of course, GTA is a triple A title which a lot of people play and thus would want to see on twitch; which is the main reason why they don’t also ban GTA if they would ban Yandere Simulator.”
Money is involved, that’s the MAIN reason…
Given the content it has, I’ve often wondered if the finished game will ever see the light of day for publishing.
Don’t get me wrong, I want to see this game happen and be able to play it. The problem lies with fear-mongering groups who will want to shut it down because they will say it’s too violent and might influence impressionable kids to do crazy s♥♥t.
He could always self publish. Paying a company to put the basic game onto a DVD and package it would be simple enough with Kickstarter funds. As any company would, you’d order this in the 1000s to save money. Companies get a better price for this stuff when they order more of something.
“Given the content it has, I’ve often wondered if the finished game will ever see the light of day for publishing.”
Sure it will, just not by any major publisher. That’s a complete non issue though since this is independently developed and published.
Well, Hatred did, so
Except they can’t. There is no big company behind this, no products to boycot, no headquarter to demonstrate in front of, no news channel will ever cover this (if they do, it will perhaps 1000x sales, so go ahead). It’s not against the law afaik to program a video game. Let SJWs rage, we drink their delicious tears. And I’m fairly certain that Steam would accept to sell this (they sell Hatred ffs).
You don’t need to worry, he seems pretty determined to make a high school kid murder simulator.
they banned it because it’s sadistic, uncomfortable, and weird.
It’s not like you need to stream a disturbingly detailed high school psychopath homicide simulator to enjoy it, anyway.
Sadistic, uncomfortable, and weird describes GTA as well.
The problem with GTA though is that it’s a Triple A game loved by short attention-span children looking to get all sorts of ‘strategies’ and ‘tips’ to be better at the game, and Twitch facilitates it because they know that GTA will bring them site traffic. Yandere Simulator however will more than likely get people raging at Twitch, and they don’t want to deal with the headache of having to respond to all of the complaints that I’m sure they get from people like SJW’s, helicopter parents, and the like.
The problem is that Yandere Simulator is made by someone who isn’t Triple A, and that is basically the only thing keeping it from being streamable. I’ve seen disturbing stuff in games that are on Twitch right now.
“You might want to look up Trevor’s torture scene.”
I did. On twitch.
“Clearly it doesn’t”
You might want to look up Trevor’s torture scene.
Clearly it doesn’t, because GTA wasn’t banned. The difference is GTA doesn’t elicit such a negative response in people, while this game clearly does. The GTA and Yandere Simulator have different reasons for development and people are picking up on that.
I can probably see that this game might influence kids to go kill other students at school who gets between their love interest and then the government have to take action by enforcing a ban on love just like Sandy Hook, Columbine, and Virginia Tech shooting are created in order to take people’s guns away so they can’t revolt against tyrant government.
Take your meds, man. There are no telepathic radioactive cockroaches planted under your bed to put bad thoughts in your brain. That what the computer is supposed to do. The cockroaches are there as backup when the power goes out, and to monitor your dreams when you sleep.
I can see how your dumbshit post would influence other people to kill you so you don’t breed, you retarded conspiracy theorist.
@I can probably see that this game might influence kids to go kill other students
That wouldn’t be the fault of the game, that would be the fault of the kids parents and the government for not identifying the kids problems, aka mental illness. Only someone suffering from some form of mental illness could do this.
wtf do you think the government does? kids are their parents responsibility not society’s. don’t fucking tell a man he cant have steak because a baby cant chew it.
Wrong, if a school fails to take the appropriate measures to identify someone who is clearly suffering from some form of mental illness, then they are failing the kid. A lot of these gun shootings are done by people with mental illness and some of which could have been prevented had appropriate mental help been given to the person.
You mad bro? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Congratulations on citing one of the most retarded conspiracy theories out there.
I see you that are asleep and a sheep and have been brainwashed.
Better to wash my brain once in a while than let it get all crusted in dumb s♥♥t.
