I humbly offer my take on a list. While I'm very confident that nobody actually cares what my opinion is, here are some examples of why I think these fine ladies belong on such a list. I've tried to find representative images that show off why they're cute with a ponytail and wherever possible, went with official art of some sort that while NSFW, is relatively modest for this site. Also, while not every example is all ponytail, all the time, as best as I can recall, they've all worn ponytails in their respective shows. I know that a couple of these are already listed but Kanzaki Kaori and Houki didn't get their own images. I'm also glad to see Haruhi appreciated for one of her too rarely seen aspects.
Alas that I couldn't find any representative images for Konoe Subaru, Sakamoto Mio, and Chifuyu-nee, who would otherwise be included.

If you are gonna put down a series again and again despite people saying otherwise, I'd advice you to shift your focus onto other shows to your liking if idols anime is too good for you.
