The next (and sure to be senselessly loved) iteration of the Love Live! series has unveiled the entirety of its first musical single, unsurprisingly bursting with energy as the franchise’s lovely new idols dance about, and serving as a preview for the upcoming Love Live! Sunshine!! anime in addition.

"The next (and sure to be senselessly loved) iteration of the Love Live! " I THought I was the only one!!! For an anime called "LoveLive!" -aka named after the event, WE NEVER GET TO EVEN SEE THE EVENT!!! We ONLY get to see mews Perform like one song and out fucking nowhere everyones like,
"Oh, well they win, just because…no, no, you don't need to see the compition, just know they win… who cares about the hundred to thousands of other idols/idol groups that supposedly practiced and trained for years, to go to the event too, they don't exist, we won't show them, here, just watch this…" =_=; rant over, THis show is EXTREMELY overhyped, but I think we all know why people *really* watch it… Yuri ship-a-sailing
…so is this like a remake of the original series? cause besides it taking place by the ocean (more fan service guaranteed) I see little to absolutely no difference in story progression and characters… and 6:10 of the video… SHIP SHP SHIP!! All aboard the Yuri Express!

Except that IdolM@ster is no different from Love Live, no pun inteded. They're also look the same AND there are too many of them. At least Love Live did a better job of keep the number of the idols low.
Dude that argument is 100% backwards… IdolM@ster came years before love live was a thought, so *LoveLive is no different than IdolM@ster*-would be the proper quote- and "Too many idols in IM@S?" pft.. more like TOO FEW in LL, I mean, the NAME OF THE SHOW< is "LOVELIVE!" but we only see ONE GROUP perform at "LOVE LIVE!"…a group that hadn't even been active a full year! but we're supposed to believe that they just magically stole the show… "nope, no need to see any other girls perform, just know they win in the end… just because"

If your comparing Yuri undertones, and girl-on-girl antics, then yes I agree :) otherwise, kill yo self, lol Love Live Barely has a storyline! the school closing seemed more of a subplot and a after thought/reason to make the girls dance.
No have same charisma as first love idols girls, but still good, I'll whatch.

Nico was one of my favs, but I found those moments to be a little cringe worthy sometimes..

This is way earlier than expected but I am glad to see another Love Live coming this summer.
They all look the same.
I understand what you mean by they look the same, it has to do with the way their eyes is drawn but we can't really blame anyone for this since different artists yield different styles. But at least they can still be recognized and differentiated at a glance.
This is in line with real life idol groups because no one should stand out too much lest the other members feels left out. This apply for vocals as well, if someone in the group have rather high pitch, she have to lower the key when singing in harmony and only sing in high key when needed, usually when singing solo for a few lines.
Akin to Idolmaster, these girls are basically all the literal whos that appeared on the mobile game for the purposes of padding out the card collection content shit right?

This looks the same, but not as good. When you have the original 9 girls associated so strongly with the Love Live "brand", it's hard to change them.
They should've called it something else.
The issue is that they defined "LoveLive!" as the huge SchoolIdol event, but we never actually get to see any of the actual event/competition, on the Mews performance… and they win… after less than a year as an idol group… Why didn't they just call the series "Mew's!:School Idol Group!" or something like that if its a story about Mews :/
