I can agree on Mahouka, but Hyouka would literally be a few episodes long at best, because there's only 1 volume of the light novel that wasn't portrayed in the anime.
I would love to see a Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?! Sequel. The light novel is awesome and the first season barely scrapped the surface.
Yeah, Mondachi would be nice to have another season of as well.
Perhaps Seitokai Yakuindomo as well?
so much this
Mondaiji-tachi would be niche, too.
But I loved Hyouka a lot - so we are in need of more story, not less anime.
Hataraku Maou, you japanese dicks.
Why that hasn't had a Season 2 remains a mystery. More so, why any show that has sold over 10k per volume on Blu Ray alone hasn't a sequel. That's like money in the bank profit for any studio.
There are currently enough series to cover their TV broadcasting schedules unless you wish to see more hastily produced series that is below the standard and have haters criticize them everywhere?
Anime studios barely make much profits after paying their staff members, if anything, they wait for sponsors to show up on their doors. They rarely have the capitals themselves to start a project.
This is all about meeting demands and not just because they wanted to.
People wanting more Shit Art Online?
you... shut... your... mouth
I will Juan Punch u if u menshon dat agen
honestly SAO isn't bad mind you its not as uber as a lot of people keep trying to make it seem but its by far not the worse one.
People are only defending SAO because faggots keep attacking it every time it's mentioned.
More no game no life and overload.
overlord is to new but does have a good amount of content it can cover. no game no life not sure on but it seemed popular and has had enough time that a follow up should have been doable by now.
You have no idea what you're talking about. Overlord has more than enough content for a second season.
No Game No Life covered the first three volumes of the LNs but used the ending from Vol 6 when they challenged old deus. There's not enough material for another season because of that. They would have to retcon that ending and start at Vol 4.
Anything made by MADHOUSE most likely won't get a 2nd season unless it's a very episodic show like Ace of Diamonds or Monster.
Monster was episodic? From what I remember it was 70 episode thriller story.
Where's mah Deadman Wonderland sequel?? T____T
more index
Railfun ONLY if it's not all Grimderp like S was.
Hyouka, YES PLEASE! Finally something good.
Moretsu Pirates anybody? Or is that somehow not recent enough?
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia maybe?
I agree with most of this list.
SAO is already getting another season so not sure why it's even made this list other than being overrated trash. Overlord is much better.
Not sure how another season of Mahouka would be since the male mc was basically shown to be an unkillable magic god.
There is also a few of their seasons just ended like a week ago and they want another a sequel already.
Why do people like things I don't like!?
Because this strange thing called 'different taste' exists for some reason..
You don't want another Mahouka because the MC is too powerful yet you want another Overlord. Try to show some consistency lol.
well both are powerful, but the characters themselves are completely different.
MORE INDEX! MORE RAILGUN!
THIRD SEASON PLEASE!
Those shows were fucking garbage. Most forgettable things I've seen in a long time.
Ikr Index is the best!
More Railgun will happen eventually. It sold very well.
There isn't enough content to make a third season unless they add massive amounts of fillers.
more danmachi please
no Spice and Wolf? :(
I think people have given up
The first season of the anime is too different from the books; for example, that shepherdess should not have traveled with Laurence for as long as she did.
Well that's bullshit. The anime is pretty much a faithful adaption of the Light novels.
that doesn't explain why there was a second season though, the novels and the anime weren't that different
It'll be a while for Owari no Seraph seeing how it caught up to the manga.
Magical Pokaan and Spice and Wolf.
that's not recent.
Why would anyone want a sequel to Gakkou Gurashi? They fucked up the adaptation so bad. They made it more tame and didn't even adapt a lot of scenes from the manga and made up their own original shit. That annoying dog only made one appearance in the manga and it was in a flashback, but the anime pretty much revolved around him for no reason. Especially in the last episode when they wasted precious time mourning his death. Manga readers know sequel for the anime wouldn't even work because Yuuri's character development in the anime was non-existent, certain key scenes were missed. And the manga focuses on her right after where the anime left off. Also the stuffed bear was left in the school in the anime, and the bear plays an important role later on. The manga is 10 times better.
ikr Gakkourashi was pretty awful compared to its manga
I know its not recent but Air Gear really needs it more then any of these.
No it doesn't. It's a tradition for Oh Great! shows to be half finished. Look at Tenjo Tenge.
Sword Art Online doesn't need a Sequel.
Long Story Short Sword Art Online = .Hack// (with small alterations)
It didn't even NEED a "Sword Art Online II"?
Both the Aincrad and the Fairy Dance arcs made a perfect, all-in-one complete start, middle, climax, end. There was NO WHERE ELSE the story needed to go. The "Sword Art Online" title is a lie at this point because NONE of these games/adventures that they go through exist within or are associated with "Sword Art Online". The series concluded.
Sword Art Online II was just a bunch of pointless mini-series (as I might add, very lame and uninteresting.) Come on! The GGO arc was probably the most uneventful, and yet at first glance looked like it was going to be good. (don't harp on me about the books.) As far as the anime is concerned, it looked like GGO was going to pull a .Hack// out of it's ass and get us to believe that this "Death Gun" - Darth Vader looking character - was actually going to prove to be some worthy opponent, and not destroyed amidst a single one-time tournament encounter.
(The stories that came after GGO they could have simply saved their money on.)
The reason Sword Art Online I was complete between Aincrad and Fairy Dance, is that all the loose ends were tied up once Asuna was free from Sword Art Online's sister game Alfheim Online. At least then there was a reason to continue the story.
Sword Art Online's biggest problem is an issue I see with so many anime series. At first they offer up a very compelling storyline complete with a colorful array of characters (and I'm not referring to character's hair or skin in this reference... although it's nice to see a black guy in a Japanese anime.)
The problem occurs when the artists/anime'tors feel that it's necessary to deviate from the story's course to focus in on irrelevant characters/plots just for the purposes of creating inappropriate fanservice (like a 9 year old lolita whose only appeal is being seen up-skirted, or a replica of Aura from .Hack// by way of "Yui" Really. (I have TRIED to separate .Hack from SAO... but cannot... I wonder why...)
Then when they finally get back to the heart of the story, you've already lost interest. (Once Sword Art Online was no longer an issue and (I argue that ended once Asuna was free not when SAO self-destructed-- Kaiaba's game was a fail. Kirito Lost.) the series was all and done.)
I loved SAO on first viewing, it was one of my favorite animes ever.
but i've seen it a few more times now, and aside from the first arc (actual sao) it's just pretty meh.
Recently rewatching it i had to force myself to finish the GGO arc.
I think its the lack of actual danger, i liked the kill or be killed atmosphere of the first arc.
Ahem!
It's called .Hack//
If you mixed the GOOD elements of .Hack// and the few GOOD elements of S.A.O you might have actually had a GREAT series.
S.A.O with its character development (let's face it. .Hack//Sign was devoid of any real character development despite it being a series of nothing but close-up shots and meaninglessly drawn out drama. (and i'm sorry, but Tsukasa being a girl in the end was just over-the-top. if I wanted to watch a yuri, i'd've actually picked myself up and gone to a store and picked up an anime with the word "Yuri" written on it. But then Sign was still a more eventful anime than it's successors. Once they killed Aura it was over.)
S.A.O needs the .Hack// coma-victim consequence of playing the game syndrome.
Full metal panic
log horizon
no game, no life
hataraku maou-sama
pleeeeeeeeeeease
imo log horizon killed itself with it's second season. But They might be able to save it.
The Government screwed it over by handing it to DEEN. That said, it'll be a while before they could do a season 3 anyways since season 2 covers all the way through volume 10 which is the most recent released.
Actually the author is pretty much almost done with Vol 11.
@13:57 um, anime productions have nothing to do with government whatsoever, it is anime studios that produce them but authors also have no says in this matter. Which studios is awarded the project is mainly dependent on the budgets from sponsors. You can't choose top studio if the budget is low do you?
I kinda enjoyed the second season actually. I thought it was better than the first.
How did Log Horizon kill itself? It was faithful to the material. It won't get a season 3 for a while as there's not enough material for it. The author isn't that far ahead yet.
FMP is coming is it not?
