Well you could go that route, but models colored using those programs. Tend to not render properly if at all. Less you have the proper plug-in install. And most tend to shy away having to install those. When you can accomplish better results with just Photoshop. You can make a rather simple low poly model work. If you have the right texture on it. Though not having the verts crammed together does help with the seams around the neck, arms, legs and back.

But if you’re looking for existing models to play with. You can get a rather large amount from the steam workshop. Most are already ridged and can be imported into either SFM, Gary’s mod, or (if you export it as an OBJ) into either 3ds, blender or Maya.

There is also a few sights that do direct assets exports, but most are just the models and sometimes the textures.

If are are proficient in SFM. I could use your help with a project i’m working on.
