The first glimpse of the impending Naruto anime adaptation “Itachi Shinden” has emerged, predictably bearing a great deal of drama and likely nothing in the way of more light-hearted moments, something that might have aided viewers in fully coping with the anime’s apparently serious tone.

I remember when I was a huge fan of Naruto but this series got progressively worse and I just stopped caring about it. Like 5 years ago I would of been so hype for this but now my interest doesn't go beyond me leaving a comment hating on how shitty this series became.

One thing Kishimoto never grasped was that not every one of his readers was willing to fall down on their knees and worship the very ground Itachi walked on, like all the characters in the series were. Itachi was an atrociously-written Marty Stu who was subject to one of the most HORRIFICLY badly-written retcons in manga history (if you believe Kishimoto had intended for him to be "good all along" from his first appearance you're a retard) and all the characters in the manga shilling him as the greatest ninja who'd ever lived only served to make us hate him more.

You do know that in his Kobayshi interview, Kishimoto admitted to planning Itachi's twist since he was introduced, right? It was not a retcon and impressively written.
