Eh. It was Nintendo's choice to make the Wii and Wii U with less capable hardware so they can turn a profit for each console sale.
It makes no sense for them to hand edit each asset in the game to make sure it plays smoothly on the Wii U when the Wii U has a much smaller playerbase than other consoles.
At least the XBOne is capable of playing the game with its current assets intact.
