    But time have changed, some years ago versus now is already a big gap considering technologies is evolving very fast. Back in the days when hand-drawn animations or manga is the thing because computer graphic weren't widely used yet. However, ero-manga/anime isn't mainstream thus more difficult to rake in profits.

    There's a fundamental truth that quality can be considered low, while one can be a cheap bastard. Both are true and mutually exclusive. If they tried a bit harder and spent more time on scenes, they would make higher sales, this is proven by many hentai in the past and now. We're not really the market, but it's true, we can still 'support' hentai, but it's a market that is very volatile in its quality, purpose, and just general goals. Some studios respect the fact that sex isn't just for jerking off, but can be integrated into a plot AND be hot, which means I will actually buy it, like Midnight Sleazy Train for example, that one caught me off guard, it was seriously entertaining for me as a story, not just a hentai.

    I've been wanting to see sex used as a plot point effectively for a long time, because it's usually only a shitty side gratuity, or just jerk off material, in which case I have better sources than hentai.

    Space Ship Agga Ruter and Midnight Sleazy Train made me happy to have watched them, I was actually entertained, and the sex wasn't all there was to them. I only watch hentai now looking for stories like that. It's also why I'm grateful for anime like High School DxD where sensuality can be effectively put to the forefront as entertainment while the story is not reliant on it, but it enhances the story.

    Oh please, the only reason they're using these backgrounds is because the hentai makers know that their fellow Nippon males are a bunch of horny losers. They'll jerk off to anything except real women, so why waste money on backgrounds.

    As for animating, last I checked, Japanese animators work for dog-shit pay, whereas Korean animators make a living wage in one of the worlds most expensive cities. Considering the shit quality of recent hentai, it's obvious the hentai makers are paying Japanese-level paychecks for them.

    Yes, it is true Japanese animators especially young and inexperienced ones is paid very little but they are not mainstream media, how do you pay high wages when you barely make any profits.
