A Wii U trailer for Pokken Tournament has familiarized oblivious Wii U owners about the existence of the stellar Pokemon fighting game, something that would be very beneficial considering the phenomenally low interest it has apparently been generating in arcades.
The trailer, rife with many Pokemon battles of a non turn-based variety:
Pokkén Tournament will launch on the Wii U on March 18th in Japan, while North Americans and Europeans can brace themselves for it sometime in spring – the game is currently available in Japanese arcades at any rate.

great to hear arcades are still alive in japan, although a shame they are so desperate they actually made a pokemon arcade game.
Can you really call them desperate when this is all about doing business. Handheld cell phones or consoles is very common nowadays, I myself used to frequently visit arcades back in the 90's but the new generations certainly isn't as hyped about it.
I'd say arcades is slowly going into obsolete, thus they tried to cater to the kids instead of teenagers and above.
They fucked up by calling it Pokken instead of Pokemon Fighting Tournament or something
No doubt people find no interest in it because from the title alone it just sounds like crap, they removed any and all brand recognition from the title

To be fair, this is never the type of game that was going to be successful in arcades among the core fighting game crowd. I don't really give a shit about Pokken, but it would be like claiming that Smash Bros. would bomb on consoles due to lack of interest at arcades. It's just not the right audience.
wtf the fighting system seems very similar to the Naruto games.
and another reason to avoid this game.

Unlikely it'll be that bad - there are still plenty of Wii U diehards who buy anything and even defend and buy (or try to buy) garbage like Devil's Third just because it's on Wii U.
I don't care what people say I would play just for the fun of it and that pikachu in wrestling costume was adorable! How can anybody hate that?
That's the correct attitude! I'm sick of people comparing everything to something whenever it comes out. I blame this behavior on social medias which give people too much "freedom" and many abuse this rights.
