Square Enix have hosted another livestream for the next iteration of the Star Ocean franchise, “Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness,” giving an equal coverage to both the combat system and town exploration, contrasting unfavorably with another Square Enix title sorely lacking in one of those departments …
The livestream footage, which was recorded on December 11th:
Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness will begin its adventure on March 31st for PS3 and PS4, with its western launch slated for 2016.

Except for the second one. The world actually being destroyed by the bad guys was a nice surprise. Especially after a play time when other game franchises would have just given you a an endboss to beat.

We're now two years into PS4 and in Japan PS4 has barely sole 2 million units. Which puts the system's total sales barely above xbox360. While Europe & America are on their way to reaching 13million a piece. If we looked at population figures, the United States has three times more people, so to have a user base at least equal Japan would have had to sell at least 4million units as to today.
Right now they're around half. That's a major decline. And that decline can be found in sales figures multiple ways. This was merely one example. And example that in the PS1 & PS2 era would have matched evenly with US sales projections.
While on the flip side, handheld sales have continued to rise. Now there are some retards that claim this is a 'fluke', but whatever. Pretty obvious that the real cause is the decline in birth rates.
Right now Tokyo is claiming that they don't have any birthrate issues by touting that on average each woman is giving birth to a single child. So their logic is that children are being produced at a 1:1 ration, which in reality is untrue because it completely takes the male partner out of the equation and ignores that half of the population. As in 50% less children are being born now than were just a couple decades ago.
Fifty percent? Now where did I hear that... Oh yeah, that matches the decline in Japan's console sales. Well fuck me.
So yes, Japan's console market is in fact dead. Well, to be exact it's on life support. Japan knows it too, which is why as of late more than a few titles have come with Vita ports that aside from having downgraded textures look identical. And this is because they were always designed to Vita in mind, knowing that the PS4 version was never going to be a big seller.
Just a reminder, this is a PS3 game that is also brought to PS4. Don't expect current-gen graphics.
Just a reminder: average console cycle is 6 years. PS3 is 9 years old and it usually takes 4-5 years to make a JPRG, if what you said was even remotely true, SquareEnix would fire the entire team for gross incompetence. As everyone would be aware that we'd be deep into the next console cycle by the time it was ready to market, as a PS3 game. Don't make up stories that have no base, retard.
It doesn't take 4-5 years to make a JRPG, that's the Square-Enix model of game making. Most niche studios, including Bandai Namco can do in 2-3, sometimes less.

aside from the zero loading time combat system, everything looks the same. given that i've never bothered to beat a star ocean title because they become so repetitive, i'm not sure now much of that is a good thing.

X is made by a much better studio. Unfortunately, that studio is owned by Nintendo, so all their creations will auto-fail.
The stream quality sucks, which makes XCX looks better.
Nah, it's more a case of the Wii U having more system ram/video memory(Though a weaker processor) and can easily match the PS3 in terms of graphics.
With that being said, Monolith Soft are just far superior at getting the most out of the hardware they use.
I hope that this gets a Steam release.
