Game developer Idea Factory have unfortunately followed suit with other companies in refusing to kowtow in response to the feminist mania corroding the western gaming industry, announcing that they will no longer release games in the west if they require censorship and artistic compromise, paining fans greatly but perhaps being the lesser of two evils.
A recent interview with Idea Factory president Haru Akenaga brought up the Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 fiasco and how it convinced the company to go this unfortunate route; he also goes on to state that he does not want to censor games as it is not true to the original art.
Naturally, this latest turn of events has many western fans wondering whether a new entry into the Neptunia or Moero franchises (amongst other such games) will ever see the light of day again in the lands so blighted by political correctness, “gender equality” and religious fervor.
Some might wish for a game to be censored just so they can play it, rather than not get to play it at all. However, I think the very opposite way. I am very anti-censorship. It is better that, that they refuse to sell a game than let it get censored. And in fact, that’s what IFI (Idea Factory International) promised us, the potential customers of their games.
When it came time to test the sincerity of that promise though, they failed. The game “MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies” has in fact been censored, and the things that have been censored appear to not be anything that if left in would have even gotten the game an AO rating. Instead, they appear to be the kind of thing that only an SJW would complain about. Specifically, they attempted to remove all implications that some of the characters were obviously underage, by removing terms like “high school”, “middle school”, and “elementary school” from the character descriptions in the intro video in the game. And though I haven’t actually played it myself, I’ve heard that some of the sound effects were changed. The zombies they are fighting are supposed to be saying “yooojooo” in their mumblings, but this was changed to “yoooooo” in the English version. You see, “yojo” is the Japanese word for “little girl”, and again this implies the characters are much younger than IFI would like them to be (in order to avoid a potential situation of SJWs complaining about IFI supporting pedophilia).
I don’t understand why the f♥♥k they don’t just completly ignore those people in the first place, they aren’t going to buy the game anyway so they have no damned say in its content imo. They get some flak for it? so what, your fans will still be buying your games regardless of what some shitface femnist says.
You think it’s just a vocal minority because they’re so absurd, especially compared to your own sensibilities, but then you look at politics and realize it’s an entire culture; a virtual echo-chamber of tens of millions of people living along the coast who all think this is the right thing to do and circle-jerk in accordance with each other to affirm rightthink solidarity.
Those people are out there, and they are not only numerous, but many are wealthy enough to be completely out of touch of reality. And they vote.
The jes did this.
Release the games in Japan with an English language option, You’ll be fine.
