I was just talking about the fight in the movie, Freiza never even stood a chance. It was like watching an ant fight a lion.
It was boring and had no sense of tension at all.
It has plenty to do with the intended age group if you know Toriyama's debut work -Dr.Slump which is for kids and Dragon Ball is set in the same universe as Dr.Slump. DB start out with very childish drawing style, although there were a bit of nudity initially but the series was never meant for adults in the first place. However, this doesn't mean grownups cannot like Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh etc.
Look, the storybook of Harry Potter is well-received by young children but does this discourage grownups from liking the series?
To answer your question. People whether longtime fans or haters had been saying to just let this series die, these statements are mostly in English meaning of western origins. But what makes you or haters think that loyal fans outside of the west does not have the same sentient? To me, this seems like a spin-off just like GT, however, not many is aware that GT is fan-fiction which gets the okay by Toriyama for an anime.
You mentioned Toei, hence I tried to let you know this studio mostly deal with shows intended for younger audiences. Back in the days, there were no SJWs and the likes, so there were a lot more freedom of expressions unlike our modern days.
The one in the movie was a billion times better. Heck, EVERYTHING Super has been doing is fucking garbage compared to the movies.

No. He had no training, so he's power droped slightly. He was not sure he can turn on SSJ... Mystic power faded away. His body forgotten. For me he had on ssj1 in dbs 8 time lower power than on mystic. Mystic was something like 2times more than super perfect cell.
Gohan said something strange, than this guy is so good as me at my best = best was mystic form... This has no sense, because he easily one punch kicked him with only ssj. Maybe it was because ginyu haven't fully control new body's power....

Ginyu's new look is so... underwhelming? Without his horns, serious face, muscles and veiny head he looks somewhat shitty. I know that budget of this show is kinda like 10$ per episode but Toei could at least try to make "old" characters more similiar to their counterparts from '90.
Thats because its not Ginyu. his body is gone, he stole someone elses body with his special technique.
