Hideo Kojima Banned From The Game Awards 2015

Hideo Kojima, the revered creator of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, has been banned from this year’s Game Awards due to the details of his contract with Konami; a rather cruel turn of events that all but confirms Kojima’s departure from the relentless company.
Konami had previously reported that Kojima was in fact on vacation as opposed to no longer being with the company, a fact that was immediately disproved from a number of sources and quite obviously revealed that Konami was attempting to save face after the esteemed developer’s departure.

To say Konami have handled this badly is understatement of the year. They are truly a vile/dreadful company and hopefully without Kojimas games to keep them afloat, they'll go under.

Theyll go under and its their own fault for ignoring all their franchises to pamper MGS.
At this point we could have a "soulish" Castlevania, a table console Suikoden and Frontmission and the company could continue existing without MGS franchise.
um none of these series were nearly as good as MGS. Any game like dark souls should not be made as plotless games like this stink. And I have never even heard of suikoden or frontmission ... without kojima the company will thankfully die.
Front Mission 3 and Suikoden on the PSOne...fuck, those were the days. Brilliantly done and exciting as fuck to play. Find yourself some copies and broaden your horizons. For me, they shoved MGS's face in the dirt.
It's already been said that they'll refocus into mobile games, so crappy pay-to-win games ahoy! Minimal effort for grand profits and idiots will gladly pay.

I preferred Zone of the Enders to MGS. It felt like he wasn't given enough control over the project after MGS2.
Relax people, I did the math. This is just beacause Hideo Kojimas is so damn fuggin' amazing that with just his presence the audience would die of a multiple epilepsy attack. It is preety clear he got banned. Kojima would just commit incredible mass murder with just his epic entrance. Pff people are so scared of nothing nowadays..
So, considering that Konami is a family-owned & operated yakuza company (literally) that is known for "reassigning" problematic employees (including directors & executives) into such esteemed positions such as pachinko manufacturing & gym floor mopping, I wonder what Hideo's actual job is now as he's trapped in that work contract that likely has a massive financial penalty clause should he try to break it?
So, while Hideo is being awarded (with konami execs "humbly" accepting the award on their own behalf - not a mis-type), I wonder what esteemed job he was performing?
Likely turning the screws in one of the Konami pachinko factories for the new Metal Gear Solid pachi-slot cabinets.

Well, MGS is one of the most enjoyable videogame series ever in the history of humankind. So excume me for thinking very highly of the genious mind behind that. And if you don't agree with my first sentecne, well, let's not judge each other tastes. You just have to understand why some people like him, even if you don't.
From several japanese interviews it seems Kojima treats his employees like shit.
Given that Konami have killed off the Silent Hill series, and the Metal Gear series, their two biggest franchises of recent years. They have what left? Megaman? Castlevania?

Megaman is a CapCom title, with most titles made by another company since a long time ago.
Konami is the EA of japanese gaming. Actually I'd argue they are worse. They used to be good but they have become a shitstain on the industry for so long that nothing they ever do will bring them out of that pit. I haven't bought a Konami game for years. I have no played a single Metal Gear game nor Silent Hill. If I could have supported developers like Hideo without supporting Konami I would have but I can't. Konami should just die and let some company that actually gives a shit about the fans and their developers run things.
Neither. They made like 2 good games in each franchise in the las 15 years. And Iga is at Inti Creates, so you can consider Castlevania and Megaman dead and start looking forward Bloostained and Might nº9.
I wish a really good company buys the Suikoden franchise from them once they go under for all this bs.
Worst case scenario is they turn Suikoden into somewhat a mobile game like BoF6
