Overlord sold just over double NGNL on BD.
They're all sequels. I hope this isn't a trend like in Hollywood and AAA gaming. On the other hand, it's nice to have more 2nd seasons instead of abandoned 1 cour anime.
/nod needs more Moau Yuusha, as well as a 2nd for I couldn't become a hero. This time with less fan-service. It wasn't the best anime, but the fan-service drug it down. there's a LOT of anime needs sequels.

Yeah, a lot of these DID kind of suck, but I liked them. Still pissed they canceled the US release of Squid Girl season 2, and the manga of lucky star. Moonphase only had TWO VOLUMES TO GO! I mean, give me a break!?

no, that ketsu comes from kishoutenketsu which means conclusion (knowing ki could have been used for 1st season but I doubt they've thought of it when doing 1st season)

I don't even understand why this is being made, sure its a spinoff, but the show sells nothing to nothing on DVD, even the movie flopped at retail. Why would another studio commit to this when they're not going to make much in the way of profit? I assume they get a cut of the manga sales or something, even then its hardly enough to make it seem sensible.
it's to advertise the manga newfag. big shows like naruto also sell like shit but they keep going because it increases manga sales and it's cheap to make anyway.

Just do it cheap enough and it makes money solely with the TV revenues. Just a guess though.
Studios don't get paid for TV broadcasts, they usually have to throw $$$ to get a good timeslot.

There are a few unexpected things here.
Akagami no Shirayukihime > I never expected this could have a second season. The first ended pretty well, I have no idea what they can follow with.
Ajin > As far as I remember, the manga's plot got fucked up pretty quickly, and it was going nowhere. I don't think they will make a faithful adaptation.
FT Zero > Lolwut. Errr. Okay. Whatever. It's an important spinoff to understand the Alvarez arc in the main story, but they should have padded the main anime with it. So now, instead, they're gonna pad with fillers, and/or continue to slow down the pace. This is really annoying, because I'm sick of watching the battles going on for dozens of episodes and no action whatsoever.

I actually liked Gate so I'm glad it's getting a second season.
I know, seriously. Unlike anime like Code Geass, valvrave the liberator, and Cross Ange where (spoiler)
We see a massacre of innocent people, Gate shows a JUSTIFIED slaughter; though the anime watered it down as compared to the anime. If you haven't see the manga, then you will enjoy what will happen in the second season; the barbaric privatives shall pay as demoracy strikes back.
Whatever, all I want is more screen time for the delectable dark elf. I hope she sells her body to save her village. My cock tingles at the thought.
It's a 2nd Cour not a second season. GATE was always meant to have 24 episodes.
They probably regret that now. What with the show selling 4.5k first week on Blu Ray, which is barely breaking even level sales for the quality of animation on display.
I'm looking forward to GATE 2. The dark elf that appeared in the last couple episodes was hot. I can't wait to fap to her.
