The latest Nintendo Direct has revealed a short glimpse of the upcoming Hyrule Warriors Legends, once again thrusting a plethora of familiar Zelda characters into another Dynasty Warriors clone, including a new “original” girl named Linkle, no doubt bringing much joy to hordes of gender swap enthusiasts.
Linkle’s reveal during the Nintendo direct:
Hyrule Warriors Legends can take down thousands of foes and not much else on January 21st for the 3DS, with its western release to be sometime in early 2016.

this is not a gender swap Link has always been a girl in most Zelda games. just because it's not clearly stated in most games doesn't mean it is not heavily implied that in most Zelda's Link is girl.
