Valk mermaid chars look like shit though, I actually droped it because of how gross those girls bodies looked, they were weirdly shaped, with tits that looked more like tumors than breasts. Faces were fine, but the body being like they had completly ruined it.

Not really. DxD focuses on Issei's inability to acknowledge his relationships to the girls in the Gremory group, because he was murdered by his first girlfriend. It wasn't in the anime, but it was apparent in season 3. Furthermore it doesn't always implement non-ecchi, non-hentai scenes whenever it can't come up with a story.
I like Shinmai Maou but there was no development whatsoever and the only badass character is the MC's father.
