The rapidly impending arrival of RWBY‘s first BD has prompted the release of a 7 minute PV of its Japanese dub, possibly allowing even those so critical of English voice-overs to enjoy the series.

Hiro fits Juane so so well.
Really? I thought every character's voice actor was pretty decent except for Juane. His voice is deeper, whereas in the English VA sounds higher pitch and more nerdy/dorky.
I guess it will come down to how they play the character though. Ruby's VA sounds cute, but doesn't seem like she has the crazy enthusiasm as her English VA. Either that or maybe my mind is being blown by the fact the English VA managed to have an even higher pitch voice than the Japanese one. @__@

OptiTrack’s Arena software for the motion capture, Poser Pro for the animation and Maya for the 3D assets.
It's not the best looking combination, but it gives them an easy way of creating choreographed fast paced fights. They have a really limited time frame and budget to do the show. (it did start as a side project)
All software used: Poser Pro, Maya, ZBrush, Softimage, 3ds Max, After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, particleIllusion (there might be others, but these are the most important ones)
It does get a little less ramshackle in later seasons too. It hasn't looked seamless yet, but the backgrounds do get better, etc.

XD I swear, Shin'ichirou Miki's in EVERYTHING. He even voiced a character in Madoka Magica in spite of that show's distinct lack of male seiyuu (he was one of the hosts Sayaka confronted on the train, BTW).
