Atelier Sophie has acquainted RPG-fanatics with more of its thrilling turn-based action in addition to comparing the graphical differences between its PS4 and Vita variations, naturally drawing skepticism from those wary of developer’s tendencies to flagrantly falsify such imagery.
The battle abundant PV:
Atelier Sophie will arrive on November 19th for the PS3, PS4 and Vita.
Is that Eric Cartman?
People have to remember that some JRPG devs like Gust are stuck in the early 2000s graphically because they have next to no money for a proper budget, so they copy paste stuff between titles, like how EA does it with their sports games.
Actually they’re stuck in the PS2era because Japanese console gaming is a dead market. Expect more ports of Vita games with higher quality textures and no polygon count differences from here on out.
Yeah, what I heard from Japanese artist/dev friends is they get a lot of jobs for mobile/cell phone games. Same s♥♥t happening in the West.
Damn phone gaming ruining everything!
Why wouldn’t they? Seriously, people whine about it, but think carefully about what exactly the benefit is for redoing the same brick or grass textures over and over for different games. My issue with them is not re-using textures, but not matching contrast effectively in a scene to effectively make the colors as vibrant and engaging as they could.
looks better then the shitty yoru no nai kuni vita version.
pretty much what i expected, higher res textures and a bit more polygons added to the characters (or it might just be a better AA solution which helps things a bit).
The Atelier games in general are not up to modern graphical standards, so it’s not exactly surprising that the Vita version doesn’t look much different from the PS4 version.
Vita version clearly has lower resolution screen, textures, and less polygons (look at her hat).
