I would have lost all hope if Makka na Chikai wasn't up there.
No. Setsubou no Freesia or ash like snow or aozora no namida cant remember other songs that are more suited for this shit
None of the "rally good" themes are mentioned... And not a single one is more than 5 years old here.
Some of the best anime themes are from the "good old" 80s- and somehow they managed to skip out on Priss and the Replicants and Kajiura Yuki, who have actually some of the best selling anime theme albums out there!
1) Evangelion is less than 5 years old? I'm young again!
2) Konya wa Hurricane, Victory and even Say Yes are still in my playlist
3) Kajiura Yuki rarely makes songs that give you "tension" as the original survey asked for, more like the opposite.
I was gonna "edit" to correct myself about EVA and Digimon, but yeah, you get the picture. As we all do.
(And I like "Mad Machine" from Priss the best ;) )
"Say Yes"?
Considering that the average person eventually grows out of watching anime when they graduate uni. After they have had the real world bitch-slap them, it's not surprising that "not a single one is more than 5 years old" .
Don't be so self-righteous. You don't "grow out" of your hobby- I don't see modelers or photographers "growing out" of theirs. Besides, what else should I watch? Seinfield? Grey's anathomy? FRIENDS?
Read a book, retard.
Photography is not a child's hobby, but anime, like dolls, toy cars and catching bugs, is. And people do grow out of those.
Keep whining little bitch
Dingwad, I saw a few people make a life out of these. Why else would Comiket be this long running. Plus, I met a few people in a Graduate course still watching anime, and he has the full series of Cardcaptor with the movies. Not being a fanboy, but anime is not just a hobby, as much as photography is.
While some remain with anime all their lives, most do not. Those that remain share their company with children.
"While some remain with anime all their lives, most do not. Those that remain share their company with children."
Says the obvious child.
Most people who watch anime grow out of it in a few years. It's only the otaku that keep watching it as adults, so of course most people responding to the poll will only know about the new stuff.
How is Butter-Fly less than five years old? While I don't disagree with the second half of your statement, songs like Butter-Fly and Cruel Angel's Thesis hardly count as stuff from "new anime".
Except:
Evangelion is fucking 20 years old.
Buso Renkin ended in 2007.
Sure they missed the good stuff from the 80:
Not just BGC--(Victory is a rip off of Jim Steinman's Nowhere Fast BTW.)
Love is Russian Roulette
Get Wild
DYRL
They also managed to leave out Lion from Macross Frontier.
>They also managed to leave out Lion from Macross Frontier.
I get that people have different taste and all but how they could leave out Lion from a list like this is beyond my understanding.
18 years.
Erm...the Neon Genesis Evangelion song (third one down) is 20 years old.
97. Not quite 20 but getting really damn close.
It aired in 1995 in Japan, as did the first season of Slayers and Gundam Wing. The English dub was released by ADV in 1997.
Erm, quite a few of them are over 5 years old...
>Evangelion the obvious one.
>Digimon also obvious.
>Haruhi is almost 10 years old.
>K-ON! believe it or not is over 5 years old.
>Railgun the no.1 is actually just over 5 years old.
Man I feel old.
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
No DATABASE ?!! WTF
What about "Hontou no Kotoba" from Gokusen!?
one piece - fight together has to be in there
What about "Tank" from Cowboy Bebop
This and "Mirai wa bokura no te no naka" from Kaiji
A get pumped to the Overlord theme
Even though its the American version, "Rock the Dragon" DBZ
Say what you want about the localized versions of anime, but the American compositions were amazing.
A substantial portion of the Japanese fanbase prefers the American soundtrack. The Japanese BGM was very "generic 80s anime" horn section stuff not all that different from contemporary Gundam shows and whatnot, the U.S. soundtrack was much more interesting.
while not a die hard fan, i have watched those series...
surely;
saint seiya
dragon ball series
sailor moon series
bleach
one piece
naturo
... all have at least one song that can rile up the masses
hack.//sign
escaflowne
tenge toppa gurren lagann
tenhjo tenge
medaka's box
nyaruko
oh, how can i keep making this list go on
But we are for a Change not arguing, that the Nr.1 is deserved right? O.o
Tank from cowboy bebop. why did the voters miss this?
Dragon Soul from DBZ kai. in fairness the song sounds good
Sign from naruto shippuden. more on feels though
boys and girls from hitman reborn. how did they miss this.
nanka shiawase from flame of recca. its a classic
driver's high and hitori no yoru from GTO. another classic
chain from air gear. its cool
super driver from haruhi season 2. energizing
just communication from gundam wing. THIS
trust from vandread. gundam level action
tomorrow from full metal panic. personifies fmp
live for life (full title's too long) from ben-to. makes fighting sound like eating
Screw this list.
Sono chi no Sadame, Bloody Stream, Stand Proud, Sono Chi no Kioku are the definition of "pumped".
Also why is Guren no Yumiya referred in it's translated name? Whereas every other songs are still referred by their Japanese names? Get your consistency right, Sancom.
Do westerners care about Asian names, I think not. People from the east should accommodate to westerners' way of their first and second names but not the other way round. :(
I wonder why whenever a list of songs whether on popularity or whatever from any seasons came out, people likes to "dedicate" their favorite songs in disregard to the theme of said list...
While it is nice and alright to share what you enjoys but "to screw this list" or "this is shit list" is what I always see on articles of this nature.
Can't people just respect that such "list" isn't made just for you? lol
First Durara OP - that one was pumping.
Second OP "Complication" was better.
Hajime no Ippo - Stand Proud - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AtIhuKn2No
Good song but I think the second opening to Hajime No Ippo - Inner Light - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhvIoZgRCpE would get anyone pumped up
Good list either way, But I think there are more BGM's than openings that make you pumped up
like luminous sword from Sword Art Online or MAD-NUG from Gundam Unicorn.
P.s I'd replace the number one song with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKXaEYHnVVc
Great list for a change!
heros com back naruto shippuden
I would have said the Trigun theme but dos it not count as it is not vocal?
Has anyone spoken about Gundam series? Particularly SEED cause I remember some really good ones from them.
The songs were good the series sucked
wat no FMA
Ready Steady Go! by L'arc~en~Ciel
and
Rewrite by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION
Hell, there's another L`arc~en~Ciel song missing from this top 20 list that I'm disappointed by the absence of.
Great Teacher Onizuka - Driver's High.
Do you even Nadesico?
