A brand new recruit into Street Fighter V‘s roster of formidable fighters has been revealed as the Brazilian beauty Laura Matsuda, a voluptuous combatant with a penchant for inflicting some shocking blows on her opponents and a very much competition unsanctioned gi.

I highly that's what it is. Ken, Mr. American martial artist, is 3/4 Japanese. Guy is fully Japanese, just lives in America. Karin, with her pasty skin and western name, is fully Japanese. Same with R. Mika. Rolento is saddled with a really stupid name due to the whole L / R confusion. Eagle's fighting style was given as Bojutsu instead of Eskrima a few times because why WOULDN'T a person choose to use a Japanese fighting style when they can? Even if Eskrima fits what he does better. Who cares, make it more Japanese. Because god forbid the world warriors game has too many non-Japanese people in it. I wouldn't even care if they were like half-chinese, half-korean, whatever. But it's always half-Japanese or I guess the Japanese gamers will never use them.
There are many people with japanese surnames here. I know people named Kobayashi, Arakaki, Ryuuji, Saito, Kazuko and a few others. And I'm not even very social.

For people wondering, there exists no such thing as full japanese cities in Brazil, people not well informed saying that Brazil has the biggest japanese colony in south america got just one thing wrong.
Brazil has the biggest colony in the WORLD, beating even the US (2nd Place) being the place with most japanese outside of Japan.
As a matter of fact brazillian-japanese down to 2nd or 3rd generation can go live in japan with no trouble at all as both goverments have their deals on that.
There is a neighborhood called "Liberdade" in the capital of São Paulo where everything that moves is japanese, I think that would be the most famous being the the countries economic pole, there are more that can be found in other cities as well if you do some research on it.
Heck when I lived in Brazil as a kid I had tons of friends that were direct sons / daughters of japanese.
They usually have 2 names, 1 japanese and 1 brazillian.
So if you see a Carla Midori or a Danilo Kojima or a Sandra Hitomi, don't freak out son, they exist, and they are very common.
There are almost full japanese cities in Brazil. At least at the rate possible in a "melting pot" country.
