Mitsui Real Estate Residential has turned to the power of anime to promote their property, transforming massive buildings into equally gargantuan mechs that will surely appeal to younger and older generations alike and hopefully gull more of them into helpfully inflating Tokyo’s China-fueled real estate mini-bubble – if only such constructions were available to purchase.
The bizarre video:

Apparently an entire series has been planned, though how many units such a production will aid in the sale of certainly remains to be seen.
my uni scedule got fucked up. ty jp
oh Japan…
They really can make an anime for anything, go team architect.
I’m assuming they have some sort of inertial dampeners on those units during transformation…otherwise all the occupants would quickly end up as stains all over the walls.
Even if it were to work. Do you realize they are basically using the people’s homes as armor? This has to be regarded as a war crime.
Precisely what I thought. This has got to be one of the most stupid choices for mecha-nization.
Not only that, but owning a flat that rotates during transformation/moving seems fairly inconvenient…
Remember in the movie Big where the guy was pitching the concept of the giant robot toy that turned into a skyscraper and Josh Baskin (Tom Hanks) says, “I don’t get it”? That’s this.
