Read the light novels. The originals are always better no matter how overused they seem to be and the series actually seems good.
Yeah, this season feels pretty weak. I just read some of the cliche descriptions of some of the shows and just didn't even bother to watch them. I got sick of these shows in the 90's and 2000's.
