Another seemingly generic anime about a war-torn world has arrived in the form of “Heavy Object“, replacing the classic mecha staple with unparalleled weapons of war (that take the form of metallic balls) known prosaically as “objects”, the anime’s main saving grace quite possibly being its brief moments of steamy service.

This was created by the same guy who did the "A Certain" series. I had mild expectations on this from the start. But still, the dude seriously thought that grabbing the girl's boobs was a bigger problem than saving her life? Like I know it's cliche, but come on man, she was gonna die.
They should have animated Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator then ;)
The girls are nice eye candy, but the rest of this show is shit so far. I'll give it one more episode before I drop it though.
IF they make this adaptation anything close to the LN series(and with 24 episodes there might be a good chance of this), it would be worth giving this show a few episodes to get interesting. It moves away from the giant mechs and their pilots from a good chunk of the series and only really goes away from the two idiots(protags) for short moments
Still plenty of boob jokes/fanservice in the non serious moments tho...
Personally I hope they change the biggest issue is in the LNs both guys get shit on and never really given credit so to speak for what they have done yes its said they killed a bunch of objects but they don't get treated well be it there is a reason for it but the reality is they would have some down time and be treated better. Mind you the main reason seems to be the author from what he sais in the afterwords would write multi volumes at the same time. So im hoping the anime atleast changes enough to give them some respect.
Support guys never get credit. It's a pretty thankless job.
aside from the fact we don't have superheavy battleships like the yamato anymore because they are super easy to sink, it seems decent enough.
And only the heroine's tank is ball shaped, the bad in preview seems starfish like.
Animators are getting fond of making blondies too much...
don't mess with baby magnum
No nipples, nice!
Damm this crap is generic in a SSGSSJ 3 lvl....i remenbed a manga i think to be bokuman, one of the protas say to other: " a manga about kids saving the world using mechas?? lol and people say to *ollywood doit stupid fanciful things jajaja"
This shit was boring, but I might continue to watch for the older woman with the big tits.
Am I really the only one who thinks her ass in the shower scene looks ridiculous?
ugly body...
This will probably be an unpopular opinion here, but I thought the show looked cheap. And in general, generic. Dropped midway through the episode.
Facebook and co where everyone can like with a fingertwitch isnt liking.... its a click.
disapointed by 1st ep too, was expecting more, will give a try to the following... but i'm not confident, with probably end like argevollen, a big mess...
You may be surpiresed how lenient audiences become when there is like zero catering to it... when the tv runs only to have audio existence ... to like it is not what matters anymore. They may be interested in some shows not shown on tv only because.... its not what they dislike... but it definitly not what they like... but there was never somethin tailored for their taste... some may argue that the audience trys to fit in and not the producers try to cover all tastes...
I can argue that productions from the west has never tried to cater to the taste of audiences from the east, thus it is not surprising that Anime studios are generally just trying to appeal to their fans within the country. Note that Anime companies in the U.S usually handpicked shows they deemed will sell well as opposed to bring every single shows western fans wanted. But this doesn't mean every Anime studios or even Mangaka (authors) have never tried, all those European themed stories that surfaced over the years is poof of that. Some consumers doesn't like shows heavily based on Japanese culture but won't admit it and instead tried to write it off by citing other reasons.
Even in the west tv there is more production from usa than west... not surprising that the few productions dont cater to asians. They are overwhelmed by the usa ... i guess they try to win back what the us stole from them but wont admit it either

Did not like the 1st episode of this anime...
Never thought such a heavy novel would be made into an Anime.
so basically a generic service anime with mechs and explosions. cant really get much more generic than that.
If there's a generic black-haired male mc, you can call it a generic anime.
you mean like your comments, yuri fagovski?
every anime is generic at this point
(Completely random)
GENERIC! GAO! GAI! GARRRRRR!!!!
Life is generic at this point.
Every stories(globally) is generic at this point.
Presentations is the key.
same author as To Aru Majutsu no Index, so expect the same: romance barely advance
I thought it was alright. At least it didn't have the stupid humanoid mecha you see in every single anime.
It's a giant oversized tank with way too many guns.
Basically a C&C Tiberium Wars: Kane's Wrath epic unit.
As expected it wipes out whole bases and takes a superweapon in the face and keeps moving.
my friend suggested I watch more mecha anime. I do not think this will be on that list.
I doubt you have seen many mech animes where the ones who do most of the fighting aren't the mech and their pilots but two flesh and blood idiots...
Seems like even trying to make something different is considered generic these days....
Spend 120 minutes on Hackadoll instead of 12 minutes on this shit
good for you. I didn't.
First Episode : you have to survive the wall of introduction/explanation of the world and the characters, all cliche and lame of course.
Then the fan service... you can see way more by spending 5 min on sankaku.
And it was made by the same dude who writ To Aru? Man, I was really hyped...
yeah i didn't survive that... gave up after 5 or 10 minutes or so.
I actually like it, and it's approach that these giant war machines are making everything else obsolete and how entire battles are determined by which war machine remains active after the smoke settles.
I expect more world-building and more exploration on how such a war machine can affect the military and the psychology of the common grunt who now have nothing better to do.
depending on how far they get into the adaptation, it will get into topics like that... and what can happen to countries without a "true" object
Kind of liked it too, but well the to aru hype got me there, I have great expectations.
random aria pic
I stunned what Alicia Florence is doing here?
