Overlord OP is the best of the season
Although its about openings, in the case of overlord id say the ending is way better then op.
I'd say "Kotae wa doko EEEE YEAH YEAH" and "Don't you give me your love and passion" are both equally good!

The Ending Song is great too. If they do a Top 40 for Summer 2015 Ending Themes, it should make it up there on that list.
Switch the top two and this list isn't half bad. Though that Yaoi shit needs to be off this list.
the Cinderella one is just there because of the anime fans. the OP just is average, it's way too high up in the rank.
The OP started so low in the season. But the anime get so good the put more feelings in the song.

i know right? it actually beats the previous Symphogear openings which in itself is a hard feat especially in Synchrogazer's case.
I agree fully, since it is probably the best song out of a franchise with some very solid music.
I'm just assuming that the show is less popular than some of the others, which is why fewer people voted for it... These polls always tend to just be popularity contests, since people don't vote for songs from shows they didn't watch.
i'll admit Symphogear's story overall is a bit mediocre or underwhelming, but you can't deny the songs were fantastic.
plus they really knocked it out of the park with Seiten Galaxy Cross both in music and visual eye candy.
as much as i hated the Charlotte ending, i think it should have been #1 on the list
Anyone else think calling it the "Top" 40 is kinda redundant? Since the list pretty much encompasses every single OP of the season, it's really just an overall ranking...
Not really, not everything is there. For example Jitsu wa Watashi's ED Ienai ienai is not there. But it's not very Anime like so that's expected to not rank.
Probably because it's an "opening" ranking.
Still I'm surprised... If MonMusu's opening could make it on the list the Jitsu wa Watashi wa's should have... they're practically the same

Charlotte no.2? fair enough i guess but it's definitely no.1 for me.
While I tend to like many anime openings and endings, I gotta say, Lia makes some REALLY good ones. I felt like mentioning this, because of Charlotte.
"Bravely You" is very beautiful, yup.
Yeah, while Chalotte left me with overall feelings of 'meh' I definitely see what you're saying. The opening sounds amazing.
A big part of that is how well Lia seems to harmonize with the track itself. That's not cheap or easy, but the production wizards are up to the task.

Honestly... I found the Umaru OP pretty annoying after a few times. TOO upbeat and TOO fast-paced for me. I still like it for what it presents though. What with references and happy happy joy joy

seriously? shimoneta's OP that low? 2 seiyuus with not half bad voice, all that lewd innuendos playing on and the lyric itself representing SOX's ideal loud and clear, and it's not even in top 10? also, ushio and tora's at 25? that shit exudes pure, unadultrated by moe 90's manliness and sang by ootsuki kenji for fucks sake!
im sure both trumps umaru's and makura danshi's at least (latter's current rank is only due to illuminati fujoshis having their hand in the vote). overlord's and prison schools' is undeniably great though placed at weird ranks. seriously very messed up ranking, this.
Because Shimoneta's singing is too passionless for a retro hot blood parody while U&T's lyrics are too silly and gimmicky.
It's not that Umaru's song is so great, it's that trying to be edgy or badass without hitting the mark makes something painful to listen to. Fans waited nearly 2 goddamn decades, Ushio & Tora deserve a better song.
'passionless'. i've heard seiyuu-singed songs that are even worse. if you listened carefully, shizuka ishigami do put effort singing the lyrics it so it's not completely devoid of passion. the music itself is well-choreographed to parody sentai songs.
i find mazeru na kiken's fast paced melody with a touch rock/metal mixed in, matched with the gritty visuals is extremely fitting for a show from 90s, aired in our time now. also fits the whole theme of 'fighting youkais which are really out for your blood, hotbloodedly'. tbh i dont think it can get any better than that. majority of fans do love it, only that the series' underwatched so that's probably why it doesnt garner much vote count to top the list.
A good OP is not about having great song, but also images that conveys the anime's content/mood. so why charlotte's is up there? 90% imagery looks like a confusing clusterfuck of jumbled abstracts, i cant even see the whole concept of 'superpower' or related conveyed in it.
Maybe it's related to the 'what the fuck am i watching this for again?' ending to the story.
