Tanks and magic anime Gate has sealed the portal on its first well-received season, setting things up for its upcoming second season debut in January by exposing the backstory of a buxom character revealed in the previous episode – while also tantalizing viewers one last time with some luscious dark elf action.

I expect they divided this season up into two because they're unsure as to how well the show will sell on BD/DVD. A studio like A-1 are more than capable of doing a good 22-26 episodes straight up if they wanted too. But throwing money into a project that may not yield $$$$ would probably bankrupt them.
it looks like this season cut was not intended all along, the way the last few episodes were basically just setup. something went tits up behind the scenes and now I will not be surprised if the second part will be canceled, or moved to another studio.
at the rate they've been going i don't know if they have enough material to finish off a second season at the moment.
sometimes i think they are too slow and sometimes i think they rushed things. Overall a good adaptation but i miss the more subtle nuances from the manga. Specially during dialogues.
Or years like Sekirei season 3 :P
And the manga is based on the (finished) novel, so there's enough material, the problem lies with the pacing.
after hearing the news about changes to japan's military (now they can be pulled into america's mess) and how their govt refuses funding for certain subjects in universities I can't enjoy Gate anymore.
And what does that exactly have to do with the anime precisely?
He has probably realised that the anime he viewed so innocently is not quite as innocent after all.
It is quite clear, when looking at GATE critically, that the anime especially is built around forming a positive view of the JSDF and war as well.
Basically it is propaganda for the otaku masses and the OP finds that unnerving.
They make those changes so things like GATE can actually happen, rejoice, peasant!

Oh well, I can still enjoy Prison School, Rokka no Yuusha, overlord, gangsta, charlotte and god eater. Stupid Naruto is at its fillers again.
Since the Manga is finished, why the fuck are they still making fillers?? No need. Just milking the money.
I want a second season with manga's designs.

Really enjoyed the anime, started reading the manga but seemed a bit messy compared to the anime adaption anyone else?
Read the manga, purely for the fact that it doesn't shit all over the art style whilst trying to make it 'cute'. I've not watched past the first 15 minutes on the first episode because of the terrible art style.
