In honor of Mario‘s 30th anniversary, beloved creator Shigeru Miyamoto and designer Takashi Tezuka have discussed what it was like designing the original Super Mario Bros on Nintendo way back in the day, sure to enlighten many about the development of the game that started it all.

The interview, which also promotes the recently released “Super Mario Maker”:
