Square Enix have revealed a trailer for their latest entrant into the Final Fantasy franchise in the form of “Final Fantasy Grandmasters”, and to nobody’s great surprise and in all likelihood the considerable disappointment of their more naive fanbase, it is a fine looking mobile title for iOS and Android, the noveau gamer’s platforms of choice.

The debut trailer, featuring little in the way of actual gameplay:

No official release date has been confirmed so far, but the game has been in closed-beta for quite some time, perhaps signalling that a release may indeed be close.

    Yes to no one's surprise, because they mentioned this, showed this and beta tested this over a year ago. The beta test was recently. There's 3 mobile games coming out related to FFXI. Grand Masters, which is a FF theatrhythm style game in a sense. A port of FFXI to mobile phones, and a companion type app.
