Final Fantasy V has become the next Square Enix RPG to grace Steam, additionally receiving brand new designs for its many characters courtesy of Kazuko Shibuya and potentially earning scorn from retro RPG purists who more preferred the previous pixel art-style.
The announcement trailer:
The title will take after its GBA port and feature not only a new dungeon but an optional boss and a slew of new jobs for eager RPG enthusiasts to try out.
Final Fantasy V will launch for PC on September 24th.

It's on PC. They could have at least made it look a little better. I'm not talking about a 3d engine, mind you. It looks like, at best, a PS2 game.
I'd say really optimized SNES or lazy N64.
It's actually a port of the mobile game (which is a graphically enhanced port of the GBA game).
So yeah.
it may look shitty asf but its a very good game. it spans 3 different world maps and several jobs to lvl up. i played it when it was released as "FF Anthology" back in the PSX days.
Bean Counter 1: Hey, remember that one Final Fantasy game we cocked up and sold for the cost a good game?
Bean Counter 2: You mean that Final Fantasy VI turd?
Bean Counter 1: That's the one! I'm thinking that we should do that again, but with Final Fantasy V. It has a more rabid fan base and the hipsters will flock to it with their overpriced iPhone GSXQVC6+Mega. We'll be rich!
Bean Counter 2: You just made me rock hard. I'll go get RPGMaker, you go get your 5 year old out of pre-school. We'll have him do the sprites again and we can use that script generating website to make the game.
Bean Counter 1: I love you Tom.
Bean Counter 2: I know... I know...
I love it, they refused to really update the graphics to 3d for the modern crowd but they did leave the pixel art for nostalgia fanatics, the end result is a crappy looking rpg maker look, genius!
For 15usd they have to be joking
As it is this is humble bundle material, if it pops up there with the android version included along with enough stuff to justify the price tier then... MAYBE
*they did not leave the pixel art for nostalgia fanatics
Never played this one, nor 6 or 9. Might pick it up if it is on a deal.
6 got the highest amount of great characters compared to every single FF. where else can you find kefka, a monster musuko, a samurai in knight armor, a prince toting both a drill and a chainsaw and owns a castle that can tunnel underground, ultros, a yeti, kefka, celes, shadow and a train-suplexing dude in one single rpg?
epic story deviating from other FFs where the whole protag band had to beg for an aircraft ride compared to conveniently getting one. they even got rekt by the villain and had the world completely ruined once!
9 is my favorite. Highly encourage playing it.
9 has better graphics but 6 is one of the best FFs ever. I'd say even better than 7 *gasps* I know. 7 of course made 6 look like pong.
Never played 9, you may be forgiven,
but never played *6*...thou are a heathen!!!!!!!
10% off pre-purchase, not that that's much to speak of.
That's cool I was young when I played this last time. Hopefully this time around I know what to do..unlike little me back then.
You might like the new content, if I'm right and it's a port of the GBA version there are new classes to work with as well as post-game content
looks like shit
No shit, really? By today's standard from HOW many years ago?
you're a retard
you're a retard too
He's talking about these NEW graphics, you tard. Not the beautiful originals they butchered to cater to you iPad faggots.
It's a 1992 game. What were you expecting?
I -think- he may be talking about the re-drawn sprites which do look fucking stupid like the FF6 iphone version did.
At least I hope he is.
I complained about the new sprites and retards on Youtube called me a genwunner, bunch of fucking retards live on YouTube I guess
this
It basically looks like another RPG Maker game
Wow, seriously?
yes, seriously. you idrones and your shitty remakes are ruining our childhood.
yepp, i ain't playing this. better off with the original.
RPG maker games are made to look like the old school games we had on the SNES.
