Anime devotees have once again been surveyed as to the anime that they believe most deserve a sequel, and with over 80% of them female, the results surprisingly being rather light in fujoshi favorites.
The ranking, based on 13,572 votes:
5. Senyuu
6. Free!
9. Mushishi
10. Sword Art Online

No index 3rd season?, this list is stupid.
yea WW3 arc is only comming when ww3 rl starts obviously they are trying to match the timing.
No Game No Life is there alright, but Mondaiji is missing from the list.
Mondaiji needs a sequel, in fact it needed 24 episodes from the start.
Mondaiji already got a sequel... In a LN format LOL
Izayoi got too OP even for Little Garden...
well thats because he's "last embryo"
The only problem with No Game No Life is that they stupidly put an element from Book 7 in the final moments of Season 1. Ignoring the fact the first season only covered the first few books. They were never meant to challenge the Old Deus to a game at this point.
Makes doing a sequel hard because the author is too slow in making more books.
Er, that's from book 4, book 7 wasn't even out when the anime ended. Anime is 1-3. 4-7 are out. Yeah too slow.
Wrong. I meant to say Book 6 instead of 7. The Old Deus scene was taken from the end of the 6th book.
Too bad NG;NL was most probably just a PR move ("make an anime series to draw attention to manga/LN" move seems to be gaining popularity for the last few years).
Like there is some anime that is not done to sell stuff.
kinda wished spice and wolf had a season 3...
Spice and wolf dammit
The only reason I clicked through to this article was to lament the (virtually certain) lack of Spice & Wolf and FMP from the list.
Oh, and Banner of the Stars.
Sorry, but that was made over 3 years ago. Nobody who votes on these kinds of lists even knows it exists. In fact I think they were so saddened by the results that they tossed in a random show from before 2012 just to make it seem less pathetic.
Forgot Mushishi?
The 1st was kinda... 2004!?!?
And near its 10th anniversary received a well deserved sequell.
Was also expecting Spice and Wolf on this list.
Most definitely, as much as it may have followed some tropes in terms of its story, which is never a bad thing, there's really nothing else like it in anime.
Maou Yuusha at least tries to go in that direction. It's not as good, but I was happy anyway. I had hoped that Junketsu no Maria would be similar but was sorely disappointed :-/
....
jeah.
seriously
same here
Spice and wolf and haruhi , and desert punk
Battle Programmer Shirase.
claymore!!!!
dance in the vampire bund
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
How about some classics instead of the newshit?
Patlabor for example?
Because the Japanese entertainment industry understands slightly better than it's western counterpart that audiences appreciate new material over sequels, retcons and reboots
Full Metal Panic needs an adaptation to finish the series. But I would like a sequel to at least half the stuff on that list too.
13 years since first season and 8 years since TSR
:'(
RIP
Ahhhh, Patlabor. Buttraper. Good times, good times.
If you go classic at least go with a good one and not shit like Patlabor. A new episode of Cream Lemon would be nice. Or how about an adaption of the entire Golgo 13 manga (not 50 episodes like that one from 2008). Pretty sure they won't run out of manga material for at least 20 years to come. A third Vampire Hunter D movie would also be welcomed.
I'd be 100% down with a new Golgo 13 anime.
Cream Lemon? Wow, Chen. I knew you had shit taste, but to ask for Cream Lemon over Patlabor is like saying "we COULD have a great anime, but let's just make more trash".
Fuck yes. Patlabor is still one of my favorite animes.
Agree to Patlabor, and prob another Mushishi season.
SAO another season?.....pffffff HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Calm your tits Autism-kun.
Unlike You, at least he got own opinion.
So out of the two people here, myself not included.
You look like the one with mental anomaly. Tourette perhaps?
With that, I bid you a fine day, new gen pretentious boi.
Really? lol, nope, I only made one remark there.
Rest is done by the chum in question. Most likely shaking his fists in his mighty Net-browsing chair.
Yeah... A narrow minded opinion...
Yeah, mental anomaly, not troll
@05:43. 05:52. 05:52. All same person. I lol'd.
Autism-kun marking himself up with his multiple accounts. Lol'd again.
Rekt so hard his momma could feel it
Dear Sankaku Staffer who knows shit about anime.
Free had 3 seasons already, SAO had 2.
go fuck yourself in the kneee with an arrow.
Top of the list:
Yuyushiki.
You do realize this is the results of a ranking by anime fans, not the Sankaku staffers?
Oh, and just because something has had a sequel doesn't mean it can't have ANOTHER sequel.
Japanese fans to be precise (if more male than female is doubt), nowadays is quite difficult a series after 3 or 4 years back ..
The nearest are commemorative OVAS.
Many animes end up in oblivion by copyright barriers and can not be at least remastered ..
Also because an anime enjoyed success at a time, go do today !!
Overall, it seems the memory of many otakus does not last more than 4 seasons.
Golden Boy.
Didnt Mushishi HAVE a sequel? and So did Free
And SAO, Natsume Yuujinchou, Senyuu, Ookiku Furikabutte,
