The only difference AT ALL is the amount of censorship required to show this on TV. THAT'S IT.
The story the same,
the characters the same,
everything the exact same.
to the point:
Wimpy guy can't get girls.
Guy has an attraction to a particular girl...
Girl randomly appears in his life. Becomes love interest.
Other Girl(s) show up and become potential candidates.
Guy has incredibly inconvenient timing for everything.
Winds up in horrible "woman" related problems. SLAP!
These problems lead to a series of pointless episodes that have nothing to do with anything... and ultimately lead to a very indecisive individual.
And finally, the story has NO intention on ever providing a conclusion to either the story that ends the harem story, nor do they ever return to addressing the character or otherwise problems that affect the main protagonist (i.e. Hayate: Parents never return, and Hayate remains a slave to Nagi. Happily ever after!)
In my opinion the only season this series has ever provided any true entertainment was Season 2. Reason? At least then they knew they weren't trying to develop a story and they were not afraid to hide that fact. (which is more than I can say for any of these other seasons.) Season 2 was composed of 3 mini episodes each with a gag-joke at the end. This made this like a Ren and Stimpy-like cartoon where there was no plot except what happened in that particular short episode. Honestly, I'd bring that back because at least I knew what I was getting.

so not only are we stuck with light beams, toned down ecchi scenes, lesser quality on all the girls and no nipples from mikan or any lolis but now they're half assing panty shots!

Sadly anime is no place for a lolicon nowadays.
The most daring on the subject is Prisma Illya, and even that doesn't have much, censors the god damn OVA, cut out panty shots (not to mention vulva slips) from the series itself and has low quality altogether.

Yui is my 2nd favorite character, so seeing this episode finally animated was great. Though no vagoo reflection in Rito's eyes... Xebec I am seriously disappoint. There better be one in the BDs.

I get so salty whenever I see these outright foolish "whoops! Let me accidentally slip on something in the most unfathomable way and land in the most perverted way possible and proceed to get slapped by the person (female since thats always the case) I fell on!"
They should try to make the Rito slip like circus contortionist next time. Every time a different contortion. At least make it creative.
Is this anime even worth watching? I finished season 1 and was like "meh" I mean there was some story line, but I never even started "motto" or "Darkness" is it even worth my time?
-.- _(For starters, I thought Season 1 (minus the opening credits) was AWFUL! Honestly, I can't remember how I ended up watching any further than this, but I really hated S1. Largely because It was nothing new, and it wasn't funny, AND the alien creatures that showed up had more in common with kiddie cartoons than they did with a true Eroge series. - in short the series creators didn't know who their target market was. It hurt them.)
o.- _(With that said, Season 2 is my favorite out of the series. Here is the ONLY reason. Instead of further developing the story, they decided f*ck it. We're making 8-minute mini episodes (like an episode of Lucky Star) where there IS NO premise other than the Gag-Joke that makes up that mini short. In other words, if you like that sort of cartoon where the story is the Gag, then this is your season.)

But it seems like they tried to return to the failed Formula of the First Season and hoping to slip-in the Gags of the Second. Doesn't work too well. That'd be like if they took Lucky Star and tried to slip in a sudden plot out of nowhere. That's what this is like right now.)
If you like good animes then yes.
If you seen season 1 and thought "meh" then you'd like the other seasons even less. At least the first season had a bit of plot going for it, not so much for the rest.
No it isn't. You should read some ero dojins of this show rather than the show itself. This crap keep abusing the same things over and over again. "OOOPS I SLIPPED!" "I ACCIDENTALLY SAW PANTIES!" "NOOO I GOT SLAPPED" you get the drill...
